iKoffeeholic's Word: Happy Halloween! I'm not doing much tonight. Lights out after 7, and I eat all the candy I bought for the trick-or-treaters while I catch that Harry Potter Marathon. Then, I'll close out the night with some anime. HALF-SPOILER? Naruto and Bleach are ending soon, and I'll kill myself if I die before I find out how they end! Wait...what?
Pumpkin Pie
Dressed as a flashy ninja, Teddy took the kids trick-or-treating in the Muggle parts of London that night. Rose and Hugo were glad to spend the twisted holiday with their cousins. Hermione debated Ron's idea of letting Rose and Hugo parade around in their Hogwarts uniforms, so she went to a mall and bought them costumes the week before. Rose left the house as a bumblebee, while Hugo was a dragon. They came back, weighed down with pumpkins full of Muggle candies, cakes, and of course dental floss and sugar-free gum from their grandparents.
After Ron tucked in the kids, he went to the kitchen for a late night snack. There he caught sight of Hermione putting candy-filled jack/jane-o-lanterns into the cupboard. On the table, an unusually large slice of pumpkin pie that mercilessly called out to his taste buds. Hermione sat herself down and dug into it, smirking back at her husband.
Ron grabbed a fork and joined her. When his fork plunged into the slice, it crossed Hermione's, making him blush. Instead of taking it into his mouth, he raised it to her lips, and she did the same for him. They both let the cool, sweet creaminess roll over their tongues.
"Why are you eating pumpkin pie this late at night, 'Mione? You give the kids eating curfews, so why not have one yourself," he said once he cleared his mouth.
"Just had a craving for it," she told him. "Your mother makes the best pumpkin pies." Ron fed her another bite, but missed her mouth and smeared some on her cheek. Hermione gasped and returned the favour by dabbing a little from her spoon on his nose.
Ron couldn't resist. "Oh, so it's tricks instead of treats then?"
"More like treat..." she rubbed her hand over her protruding belly. "Happy Halloween, Ron," she said, then kissed the cinnamon off his lips.
