Rose was my everything, but I knew she didn't feel the same way.
If I have to say what she truly loved, it was the planet Earth. I didn't get back then. I mean, it was just a chunk of rock that was soon going to become a Homeworld colony, like every other planets we conquered. However, Rose somehow fell in love with it instantly. She wanted to protect the Earth so much to the point she wanted to rebel against our planet and risked her life for it.
I instantly thought she was crazy because the planet was absolutely not worth her breath, let alone her life. But the moment I saw her eyes when she made up her mind, I knew she wasn't kidding.
"Pearl, I'm going to stay and fight for this planet. You don't have to do this with me."
"But I want to!"
"I know you do. Please, Please understand. If we lose, we'll be killed. If we win, we can never go home."
Here's a thing about love.
Love is blind and Love makes you do things. I knew her decision means becoming a traitor to my home planet, the place I was born and raised in. Where I was part of a familiar society that I knew all too well, until I met Rose. Even from the first day we met, she was a peculiar Gem that was always fascinated by the most weirdest things. I guess that was why I fell for her.
To me, her thoughts, words, and her every being is what fascinates me. Whatever she loves, I will love too. So if betraying my planet is what makes her happy, I'll be happy too.
I looked at her with sympathetic eyes and replied, "Why would I ever go home, when you're here?"
She chuckled softly and held my hand.
"My Pearl."
I knew at that point, there was no turning back. Even if I said no, she will still stay and protect the Earth by herself. Maybe it's just me being conceited, but I felt she knew I wouldn't back down her offer.
She knew I was in love with her.
"You're wonderful"
