An alternate ending to Heaven's door. (HONGOU Ranko) If you haven't read it, or watched the drama, do it now. It's sad, but so sweet.
Just as Masato took a big swig of his tequila, he began to shake, causing him to drop the bottle. The clatter of the glass rolling along and hitting trash resounded through the empty beach.
Tears streamed down Harumi's face. She tried to stop her tears, much to no avail. She cried for what felt like hours. She cried until it was hard to breath. She sobbed out her sorrows and loneliness, not taking notice of anything happening around her. That is, until a hand reached down, and patted her atop the head. She looked up, and gasped. It was Masato.
"You miss me that much? " He said while smiling. He bent down and wiped the tears off of her tearstained face. "You know I wouldn't leave you.; I love you too much."
"You... Your alive...?" She asked, sighing in relief. She jumped up, and gave him a big hug.
He shook his head slowly, and eventually returned the hug. "No..."
"What? Then... what happened? Am I asleep?... Please, please... Don't let this be a dream."
"No... your condition must have been more advanced than first thought. At least we have eachother, now... So, how was the beach? Was it pretty?"
Harumi nodded her head, "Yes... You were right. But, you know what? I'd rather be with you."
Masato held onto Harumi's shoulders, and looked her in the eyes as he said, "Good, 'cuz we're gonna be together for a while now. You wanna go swimming?"
Her eyes sparkled, and she smiled slowly, tears still streaming down her face. She wiped them away, and enthusiastically said, "Yes!" She let go of him, and ran to the ocean, motioning for him to follow.
