AN/ This is a very quick one shot. I might make it longer some day.

Disclaimer: I do not own NCIS LA.

Story: This is completely AU. Set after the last episode. Kensi/Callen established.

Callen was disappointed. The only person that could tell him about his past was dead. The was sitting at his desk thinking, when Kensi arrived and rubbed his back.

"How are you feeling?" she asked

"Fine."

"You're lying." She stated.

"Of course I am. I am lying to the world. I am lying to myself. Worse, I am lying to you." Callen stood up. He was mad. "I'm pretending that I can do this but I can't.

"What are you talking about? I don't understand." It hurt to see him like this. "What is it that you are not able to do?"

"Everything. I am sorry that I mislead you."

"G. don't start…" she was beginning to see where he was going and it hurt. She took his arm.

"You see? You don't even know my name. You are marrying a man whose first name you don't even know." Callen pulled off his arm.

"I don't care."

"Can you imagine? What if my parents were criminals or murderers?" He continued. "What if my father was a drunk?"

"Stop please." She was crying.

"I don't want to stop. I need to protect you. What if my parents were monsters and I become like them? What if I hurt you, or our baby?"

"Will you listen to me?" She begged while putting her hand over her belly where their child was growing.

"Listen to you? I did and look where it got me. I made a huge mistake when I asked you to marry me. Now it will be you curse too. And the baby's."

Kensi couldn't take it any longer. She approached him and slapped him across the face.

"I can not believe it. G. Callen is a coward. I thought I knew you but I was wrong. You know what? You are right. You made a mistake when you asked me to marry you. You are backing at the slightest problem." She was shouting.

"I want to protect you."

"Protect me? From what? From you selfishness? Well, thank you. I obviously needed that."

"Please. Don't get angry. It's bad for the baby." He tried to calm her.

"See? You are trying to protect me, even from myself. What does that tell you?"

"That I love you."

"And I love you too." She said in a calm voice. "And that is all that matters."

"But…"

"No but s." She took his hand in hers. "You have to understand that I don't care if George, or Gerald or whatever Callen came from Illinois, Wisconsin or Florida. I don't care if his father was an abusive drunk. All I care about is that I love G. Callen: a carrying man, my partner at work and hopefully in life, the father of my baby." She put his hand over her belly. "This baby is blessed to have you as her or his father."

"I am sorry, Kenz." Callen hugged her and kissed her deeply.

"I am always here for you. Noever forget that."

"I am sorry I did. Will you forgive me some day?"

"I already did." She smiled. "When I accepted to marry you, I knew that this day would come and that I would have to remind you that the past doesn't always count. What is important is the present and the future."

"Thanks Kenz. I knew there was a reason I loved you." He kissed her passionately. "Isn't it time we start thinking about a name?"

"How about we start by picking a letter." They both laughed.
