There once was a kingdom ruled by a Prince without a heart. Although the Prince was handsome and brave and smart and everything a good Prince was; he was nothing without a heart. The kingdom had once been a beautiful place with travelers always stopping by. But it's Prince, Atobe, didn't care for it, because he couldn't care for it. He did not work for his people because he did not love them so he sat on his throne everyday just doing nothing.

Through his neglect the kingdom crumbled and fell into famine.

One day, though, a stranger came through the village, and even though the Kingdom was grey and sad, he seemed to brighten it up with his golden hair and bright brown eyes as he smiled at everyone. Everyone thought this young traveler was an angel, what with his beautiful smile and colourful looks.

Entering the Princes castle was no hard task for the stranger, as the Prince didn't even care enough about himself to post up guards. He came before the Prince and asked why he did not care for his Kingdom. The Prince watched as the stranger walked up to him. He was not like others that had come and begged him to care for the Kingdom, this one was different, for the first time, Prince Atobe sat up in his seat, intrigued by the strangers' brown eyes and the light that shone within him. He was intrigued by this beautiful boy.

"My name is Jirou and I hear you Kingdom has gone through rough times because you do not love it," the stranger explained. "I cannot just sit around and watch as this Kingdom vanishes."

"You have heard correctly." Prince Atobe replied, his voice flat and uncaring. "I have no love for my Kingdom. I have no heart so I cannot love it."

"Why don't you have a heart?" Jirou asked, sadden by the Princes flatness.

"I don't know."

"Doesn't it make you sad?"

"No."

Jirou left, disappointed; it hurt him to see such a beautiful man with no heart. Yet his visit wasn't in vain as the Prince began to wonder why he had no heart. It would seem he was just born that way.

Day after day, Jirou would come and see the Prince. Sometimes he would play music and other times they would just talk. Prince Atobe soon realized that he was looking forward to these visits and the empty place in his chest began to stir. He did not know it at first, but the Prince was feeling the first sensation of love. And with Jirou's help and light, a little heart began to grow where Atobe did not once have one. As time passed, his heart grew and grew, all with the help of Jirou.

And then, one day, unexpectedly, Jirou announced that he would leave.

"Stop!" Atobe cried as he ran out of the castle to catch up with his angel. "Don't leave! Stay... stay for me. I have a heart now, and it may be tiny, but I have fallen deeply in love with you from it."

Jirou smiled, turning to kiss the Prince. "I have a heart of light and it was big enough that we can share. And I, my dear Prince, loved you from the moment I saw you."

"I want you to stay... I want you to help me restore my Kingdom." Atobe explained. "I have a heart now, and I care about my people. Please, teach me how to use my heart!"

And with his heart, they did restore the Kingdom. And the Prince and his angel lived happily ever after.
