Prologue
The streets of Atlanta, like any other urban jungle, had a hierarchy. The runners and prostitutes made up the lowest levels; the corrupt cops and dealers made up the middle grounds; and, the mob leaders lounged on the top of their shady pyramids. Mrs. Yi was arguably the best mob leader in Atlanta; cruel and meticulous, she always got exactly what she wanted- which was why it had been such a disappointment, that her only son, Glenn, was born with a heart.
She had expected that, after two daughters, each more ferocious then the last, her son would be the hellion fit to lead the Yi family. Instead, she got Glenn. As a child, Glennn was more prone to giggling than anything else, and his unusually pleasant temperament only grew with age. An easy smile may have been appreciated by other mothers, but Mrs. Yi couldn't afford to glorify a nice-guy; she'd always prided herself on her street smarts, and her son's readiness to trust others was completely unnerving. Her occupation had made sure her daughter's lives would be difficult, but she could tell that for sweet Glen, criminal life would be damn near impossible. So, Mrs. Yi, putting her son's safety above her motherly instincts, chose to prepare her son for anything- even an apocalypse.
