"oof!" I dropped a heavy box on the floor of my new apartment. I looked around . It was cream walled and wood floored. There was a single window on the other side of the room next to the tiny kitchen. "Damn, looks like this place hasn't been used in years." I mumbled to my self. I walked over to the lone window and opened it (after a mouth full of dust, of course) I looked out at east central, slightly leaning out the window. "wow.... look at that" The view was fascinating. I sighed and retracted myself from said window. Looking back at the box, i decided to open it and un-pack. I opened it only to see a picture of 2 blond hair boys and myself. we were about age 6-7. "Ed, Al, I promise I'll see you again." next to the picture of my best friends I saw my alchemy gloves. I smiled and placed them on the counter in the kitchen. My state alchemist watch glistened in the light as memories came back to me.
~age 6~
"Hurry up Emily!" my best friend yelled to me. "I'm coming I'm coming! Sheesh Ed wait." I giggled alittle out of breath. "Come on Em we have to see Winry." "I know I know don't worry I'm sure she wont have her birthday party with out us." I caught up with my overly energetic friend. "Hey, Emily?" "erm, yes Ed?" He smiled and looked at me. "even if your dad doesn't like me, I still love you." my eyes grew wide as he kissed my cheek.
~age 8~
"Emily! We are leaving, NOW!" My dad yelled as i tried to get out of Eds grip. "Ed! I have to go! I promise I'll see you again!" "No Em! Please! Don't leave me!" tears formed in my eyes as i got out of his grip and got on the train. I looked at Ed as he fell to his knees in the rain. I didn't loose sight of him until I couldn't see him anymore. "daddy?" "yes sweet heart?" I looked up at him. "why isn't mommy coming?" He looked taken back. tears welled up in his eyes. He grabbed me in a hug as he whispered in my ear, "I'm sorry Hun, Mommy's not coming, Mommy's gone forever." My eyes widened as i cried into my dads shoulder.
~present day~
my dad poked his head into my apartment. "hey Emily, need any help?" "no dad, i got this." I smiled at him. He chuckled and tucked some of my messy black hair behind my ear. "I swear, you look just like your mother." I blinked at him with my curious dark green smiled at me, then turned to leave. "If you need me, I'll be in my new office." "okay." I watched him leave my apartment. He almost only showed happiness around me. He was stern and a jerk to everyone else, especially guys. he was a very protective dad. "oh well" i sighed, walked into my room, and slept awaiting the surprise I'm in for the next day.
