I screamed and backed away.

I shouldn't be going through this.

Not now. Not ever.

"Don't worry girly, once I'm done with you, you will wish you weren't even born."

"No, please, stop . . . I'm telling you . . . stop!"

"Don't make me laugh, bitch. You will give me what I want tonight."

I screamed in terror, I knew that I couldn't do anything now.

I didn't know if I would make it out alive tonight.

Suddenly, a large brick hit me in the head, and everything went black.

I woke up to pitch blackness. My head felt like it was going to explode, and It was hard to breathe.

I knew where I was. The alley where I was left to die in, but I obviously didn't.

I sensed that someone was there – but I didn't know who or what it was.

"Jasmine – what are you doing here! Are you okay, are you hurt, can you hear me?"

I knew that voice – Jack Kelly. Where was him when I needed him?

I groaned loudly, in pain.

Jack gasped and shed some sort of light upon me – I didn't know.

He sucked in air – and cried out.

"Oh my god"

I groaned again, in pain.

Why must he yell so loud?

"Don't worry Jasmine, I'm going to get you to the lodging house, you're safe with me now."

I smiled, and thought how I was so lucky to have met this boy.
