Irina's Reflection
The first time Irina had met them, they had been excited. "We love you Auntie Irina!" They had exclaimed. They had enveloped her in a great big hug.
The second time she had seen them. Dan was excited, but she didn't see Amy because there were other relatives and she was trying to hide.
The third time she saw her (Dan had broken his arm so he was with Hope and Arthur) she jumped up and hugged Irina. "I'm sorry about your loss." She said. Amy was six. She heard about Nikolai. Irina had snapped at her and told her it was none of her business. Amy gave her another hug.
The fourth time she had seen them it was right after their parents died. She knew what it felt like to lose the ones you loved so she steered clear. I wish I could help them. I wish they wouldn't have to join the hunt or die a painful death. They remind me so much of Nikolai. Young and innocent…
She tried to stay clear of the reunions after that so the next time she saw them was at Grace's funeral. Poor kids, Grace was probably the only one left who loved the children and now she was gone.
She had seen them other places but the last time she saw them, she saved their lives. It was what Nikolai would have wanted. Those kids really did love me when they met me. Oh, how quickly the love can fade when it comes to the clue hunt. Young innocent children quickly growing up. If only I would have helped them sooner, if only I could help them more. What kind of cold hearted fool tries to kill children? I'll miss them when I'm gone…
