This is just a little story I wrote a few days ago (yes, I'm back to writing Regulus angst). I always saw Death Eaters having this act of initiation...You know, they have to torture someone or something alike it. Seems like something our dearest Tommy boy would have them do. Anyway, you know that reviews are always welcome! ~Petra

"What have I become,
my sweetest friend?"
Johnny Cash- Hurt
"You alright, Black?" Carrow asks, but doesn't look like he particularly cares.
"I don't see why I wouldn't be," Regulus lies.
"Eh, you know, newbies are almost always nervous."
"I don't get nervous," was the only thing Regulus said in response, his tone leaving no room for anything else to be said.

She's young. His age, merely a teenager. She's beautiful, but the terror on her face makes him cringe. She's afraid of him. And she should be.
As she looks up at him, only one word leaves her lips: "Please."
It sounds weak, but it's strong enough for Regulus to wish he had never heard it and he almost apologizes. He wants to tell the girl that he has no choice, that it's not his fault (even though he secretly knows that he does and it is). But he can't. He can only do what they tell him to do.
So he looks down on her face, his expression unreadable, and casts the curse like the good little boy he is. Good. It always amused him how many different usages a word could have...
The girl screams, but he doesn't stop. He can't. He casts curse after curse and he can feel his humanity slowly disappearing. It's more than an hour later that he's finally proved himself.
The others take his place, but he manages to catch the few words that left her mouth: "You're a monster."
He looks away. He knows it's the truth, but the truth is not what he wants to hear.
"You alright, Black?" The question comes from behind him, but the cold tone of the voice contradicts the supposed sincerity of the question. He turns around to look into Rosier's black eyes coolly.
"I don't see why I wouldn't be," Regulus lies.
