Part 1 - Teresa Lisbon
The door to the dingy concrete room opened slowly. The man stepped in, his knife pointed unwaveringly at Lisbon.
He walked up to her, touching the point of his knife to the skin of her neck.
Lisbon worked the knots again. Her hands didn't come free.
She never should've left without backup. She never should've been distracted. This was Red John for God's sake.
"We'll see if your precious Patrick can save you now," he whispered, the blade digging in.
Jane, Lisbon thought, as the cool edge of the knife slid slowly along her neck, leaving a shallow cut.
