Sakura Haruno sprayed some perfume on the letter, so it smelled faintly of her. She put it in a pretty blue envelope and held it a bit away from her to admire it.
I put my heart and soul into this letter. I hope he accepts my feelings for him, she thought.
With an ink pen, she wrote on the outside of the envelope his name. After she put it in her backpack for the next day, she decided to wait until the end of the day to give it to him. She spent the rest of the night fantasizing about his reaction. She imagined he would read it when he got home and read it again, then read it over and over, smelling the paper, sighing deeply and smiling dreamily. The next day he would tell her he felt the same way and kiss her oh so gently. She drifted off into hopefully dreams.
The next day, she woke up to the yellow sun laying a warm translucent blanket over her body. Smiling, she got ready for the day Sakura had a good feeling that today was going to be a very good day.
At the end of the day, she found the pale, dark eyed boy with his best friend Naruto, an easily excited boy with yellow hair.
"Sasuke!"
Sasuke turned around to see Sakura standing there. Naruto peeked around Sasuke and smiled. "Hey, Sakura! What's up?" the blonde haired kid said enthusiastically. Ugh, get over me already, Sakura thought to herself.
"I want to talk to Sasuke alone, Naruto."
"And?"
"Sasuke! Tell him to leave!" she insisted.
Naruto looked at Sasuke pleadingly. "Sasuke, let me stay," he simpered.
Sakura made a sound of annoyance. Sometimes, well, almost al the time really, she wanted him to disappear. He was so annoying. It was always "Sasuke this" and "Sasuke that" when they hung out. I mean, she did that too, but it's not like it was obsessive like his was.
"Stop being such a child, Naruto. Can't you just leave Sasuke alone? He probably doesn't want you around anyways," she snapped.
Naruto flinched a bit. Sasuke looked at her sharply and she shut her mouth.
"I'm sure it'll only take a minute. I'll find you when I'm done, okay, Naruto?" Sasuke looked at Naruto with softened, almost fond eyes, Naruto smiled and went away. Sasuke turned to Sakura, eyes returning to the cold dark winter-like eyes he always had.
"Yes? What did you want?"
She flushed slightly. Fumbling a bit she pulled the pretty blue envelope, handed it to him, and then left, saying over her shoulder "See you tomorrow."
Sasuke looked at the letter, flipping it over in his hand.
"You're so popular." Naruto walked up to Sasuke and leaned against him. Sasuke shrugged.
"You should go home. It's getting late and you still have that project you need to do." Naruto pouted. "Don't give me that look!" Sasuke snapped.
Eventually the blonde child went home reluctantly, leaving the dark haired kid alone.
Sasuke started walking home. He tore up the letter and let the blue pieces go. They floated away with the breeze.
