In what would seem an area of empty space, space seemed to bend and warp itself. In moments a Chinese girl, in a battered outfit and whose hairstyle consisted of just one bun on one side with the other side let loose, "winked" into existence. Before her, two Japanese girls stood, each holding an ornate staff with a jewel embedded on the end.
"It's about time you came back" said one of the Japanese. "So, I take it you didn't accomplish your, um, objective?"
"No, I didn't" replied the Chinese girl. "At least I got to see him again. He sure has spunk."
"I bet." said the second Japanese girl. "It is fortunate your plans failed. Didn't you realize what kind of disaster would have resulted had you succeeded?"
"I only wanted to save him..." the chinese girl said bitterly.
"Just like Precia tried to "save" her daughter?" retorted the first Japanese girl. The Chinese girl winced.
"Thought so." said the second Japanese girl. "Let's just get on with it."
"Fine." replied the Chinese girl.
"1st Lt. Chao Lingshen, you are under arrest for violations of TSAB regulations." said the first Japanese girl. "Specifically, the theft and illegal use of a Lost Logia artifact, namely, the Casseopia, and unauthorized travel through time in an attempt to alter history. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Investigator Fate Harlaown..."
"Good" replied Fate. "Nanoha-chan, if you please?"
"Your device, Chao?" said the second Japanese girl, one Captain Nanoha Takamachi, hand extended.
"Sure" replied Chao, handing the ribbon binding her one hair bun.
"Now the artifact."
Chao silently gave Nanoha the broken Casseopia.
"Thank you." replied Nanoha.
"We appreciate your compliance." said Fate. "Take her away" she commanded, as several guards appeared and took Chao to another location.
"One more disaster averted" sighed Fate.
"Yeah." replied Nanoha. "Still, I kind of understand her intent."
"It wouldn't have made much of a difference. After what "mother" tried to do..."
"Anyway, I've gotta go..."
"Oohh, getting ready for your date with Yuuno-kun?" asked Fate, craftily.
"Mou" moaned Nanoha, blushing heavily.
"Hahaha! Alright. Have fun! I'll need to file our report."
"Yeah, sure. See ya!"
