"Alvin, would you please go do something?" Dave begged, "Anything!" The red-clad chipmunk, home early as he was suspended from school, would not stop pestering his father.

"Like what, Dave? I'm grounded, remember?" Alvin shot back, "I can't watch TV, I can't play video games and I can't even use my phone! I can't do anything!" Just then, as the clock struck three, the neighbor boys flew past the window at top speed. Fellow chipmunks with a similar, human father, these five boys had a creamy fur color and wore shirts that fell to their feet.

Alvin, the eldest, flew by on a bright red bicycle, followed by Theodore and Noah in a two-seater go-kart. Last to pass were Austin and Simon on a dirt bike. For about 30 seconds, there was silence, and then five, loud splashes could be heard from next door.

"Who wants to play pool basketball?" Simon asked. Several voices agreed in unison, and then a stereo was turned on, playing a Rush album. Meanwhile, Dave smiled knowingly at his son.

"Our neighbors may not have much tech past the 90's, but it sounds like you could learn a thing or two from them," he lectured. Alvin sighed and turned away; perhaps some time outdoors wasn't such a bad thing after all.
