Hello :D
I scrapped 'An Ember's tale'. Didn't quite enjoy it :/ Oh well
I'm trying a different story :D
*Sorry its short ahaha*
Prologue
How long, until you lose everything you love. How long, in these nine lives of yours, will you break down and cry at your loss.
The old tom stared into the sky, eyes dark and blank. It was cold, so cold. There was no warmth in the leaf-bare nights. Away from camp, near the lake, there was nothing. There wasn't warmth in his den. The sound of the repetitive waves lightly crashing onto the sandy beach, brought sound in the silent night. No stars, there were never any stars. Where did the stars go? He remembers watching them slowly fade, one by one, but never knew why. His ear flicked, as he heard the soft pawsteps of a cat. Turning to look, he saw a faded starry she-cat. Pale light grey fur with white flecks along her pelt. Her bright blue eyes filled with distant happiness and longing. She was… familiar to him. Was it her pelt, which sparked a lost memory, or the way she is looking at him with longing? She looked as though she was trying to say something, possibly along the lines of...
'I miss you'
He never got to ask if he knew her, or if that was what she was trying to say, as her eyes filled with sadness, then she was gone. Maybe he was hallucinating, but she's gone. Gone, just like his lives. He is on his last life, the one where you just want life to be over. With a heavy heart, a clouded mind, and one wish, the tom walked back into the forest. He knew exactly what he had to do.
