I do not own X-Men Apocalypse.
I am so ready!
Rush
Fire licked his shoes, scorching them with their searing heat.
As fast as he was pushing, he could still feel it.
Fasterfasterfaster . . .
Rubber goggles warming on his face.
Xavier Manor was burning all around him, burning from the bottom up as Peter Maximoff raced through it.
Leaving outside on the spacious lawn those other-abilitied mutants pointing and screaming about a lost child somewhere in the wandering corridors of the imploding mansion.
The floor erupting underneath his sneakered feet, gouting up concrete and polished wood splinters and hellfire.
Fasterfasterfaster . . .
The child was somewhere ahead. It would die in screaming, burning flames if he made one misstep, one trip, one stumble.
Usually he never considered mistakes.
Him and his speed, no way.
Fasterfasterfastericandothisicansavehimfasterfasterfaster . . .
But he had never run through flame before.
Water, yes. Knives, yes. Gunfire, sure.
But hungry flame was new.
And he was the only one who could do it.
He clenched his jaw, felt the displaced air currents ripple and warp and distort his face.
As he pushed himself . . .
Fasterfasterfaster . . .
. . . to the max.
Racing, he was racing. Literally running up chunks of flaming concrete toward the steps to the next floor.
And he had to, he had to . . .
Fasterfasterfaster . . .
Find her. Him. Whatever.
Before the flames did.
And there the trapped child was. Finally. Standing frozen in fear on the steps, one clenched hand on the cracking, blistering bannister.
Face contorted in a scream of sheer terror.
Fasterfasterfaster . . .
As Peter Maximoff, the Quicksilver, raced through the burning ruin of Xavier Manor.
As the hungry fire . . .
Fasterfasterfaster . . .
. . . voraciously melted his shoes.
And lapped at his feet.
And reached out for the helpless child.
Fasterfasterfaster . . .
Okay, the only thing that kept me from bursting into screaming, freaked out, fangirl flames on the too short promo was Peter's 'Rush' shirt.
And then I nearly fell off the couch anyway.
I mean, dude, seriously. May 27th. Gahhh! That's forever from now!
That's the main reason I'm showing up to the theater anyway. Peter and Erik. Everybody else, I am mildly disinterested in. Or course that may change.
Anyway, everybody appreciates feedback. Leave a review if you like.
