AN: Rewrite of GLGM! Old one was… kinda bad. At least the early chapters were. I have been planning this one out ever since my "Hiatus" from fanfiction. Nothing too major changes. At least, not in my opinion. But, the one thing that hasn't changed, is that I am determined to finish any and all stories I write. More at the bottom AN for why I am rewriting.
Disclaimer: Nothing in this story belongs to me, except the occasional OC.
Beta: Nothin'.

Prologue
Reiki, a teenager that specialised in the flying-type of Pokémon, pausing in his training when he heard his Pokénav ringing. He called for his Pokémon to continue their training. His Charizard, Aerodactyl, Crobat, Pidgeot, Fearow, and Togekiss flew in the sky. Their sparring session unhindered by their trainer's call.
Under normal circumstances, no one would ever call him unless absolutely necessary. He didn't socialise much, choosing to spend most of his time in the wilderness. Even he couldn't recall more than three times he ever gave his number out. Two of which were Professor Oak, and Professor Elm.
The Pokémon professors especially didn't call often. Well, in Oak's case, not as much as Elm.
Reiki picked up the Pokénav, which he had laid several feet from where he trained, and looked at the caller ID.
Samuel Oak
He flipped it open. "Ah, Professor. What a surprise," he spoke.
"Yes, yes. No need for formalities, Reiki. I hate to ask you this, but I need a favor."
"Theres not much I could give you that you already have access to."
"Well, theres one thing. A Riolu egg."
"A Riolu? I certainly have a few eggs that my friend is taking care of now. May I ask why?"
"I, along with the Sinnoh Professor, have discovered a marvelous effect Aura has on the human body. I assume you already knew this. But Aura is influenced by emotions. Riolu, the Emanation Pokémon, are known for their ability to sense and influence emotions."
"Go on, Professor."
"By being with a Riolu, we have discovered that a person, though a child more so, becomes happier. They naturally emit soothing Aura, something that only grows the stronger the emotion. But, as the people are away from the Riolu for extended periods of time, they revert into their old emotions."
"I assume you are going to use this Riolu for something other than research, then." Reiki smiled, although Professor Oak couldn't see it.
Professor Oak paused before continuing. "Yes. There is a child in Pallet that I believe would benefit immensely from travelling with a Riolu."
"Ah, a child who has strong emotions, I assume?"
"His name is Ash Ketchum. His father left his family when he was six. His mother is depressed, and he feels anger towards his father. He will start his journey in a year, when he is 16 years old. I feel that a starter such as Riolu."
"Well, for such a case, I guess I have to help you. In a years time, yeah? I can get you an egg by then."
"Thank you, Reiki. I have to cut this short, regrettably. I hope to see you soon. Goodbye."
"See you then, gramps." He shut the device.
"Alright, everyone, we're done for the day!" He called to his Pokémon. "Everyone 'cept Fearow return."
He called back all of his Pokémon, with the exception of his Fearow.
It squawked at him, and he pet it affectionately.
"We've got an egg to deliver, buddy."

Somewhere else, Ash Ketchum found his mother's journal.
He clenched his fist at the words his mother wrote. Ash felt his anger growing. It was his fault his mother was so depressed. Being left like that… It was unforgivable. But… why? Why had he left? No one could have assumed why. But, Ash would find out.
I will find you, he decided. And I will bring you back, no matter what.
One way or another.

AN:
So how was that? I know its short; its the Prologue, but my chapters will certainly be longer than this one.
I felt that this story was too unplanned. Well, completely unplanned. But it is now, and it will be better than before. I will leave the old story up until the rewrite is finished. Hindrance will be updated in a week, preferably Saturday. Sorry to have left you guys for so long.
Anyways, another reason was that there were too many conflicting plot-holes. Like Riley going to Pallet Town, even though his family and the people that most likely hated him were there. It was… crap to say the least. At least I thought it as so, and no matter how many times I revised and edited it fixed it.
This one will be better, I promise.
Reviews are love. And I finally decided to devote my life to them.
