Differing Opinions
By PrettyGothGirl
Summary: After a long day of heavy work, Gippal and Rikku relax together, until they have a difference of opinion.
A/N: Happy Birthday RhiannaD! So many birthdays this month. Well, something similar to this happened to me with an ex-boyfriend, except I was inexperienced and nowhere near bold enough to do what Rikku does. Oh well.
Gippal shifted to the side a little, and hoped Rikku wouldn't notice. He didn't want to upset her. She groaned and stretched her legs out in front of her, leaning backwards. Her head lolled to the side and 'accidentally' ended up resting on his shoulder. He was sure it was accidental because no girl in their right mind would want to put their head anywhere near his armpits right now. His skin itched from what felt like a film of dusty dried sweat covering it.
Her hand snuck across his thigh and entwined with his. She rubbed her thumb with his. He smiled a bit. He liked how their skin was rough. She worked just as hard as he did. Had as many muscles, bumps, bruises, little scars and calluses to prove it. He barely noticed she was humming, until she stopped to sing the chorus of a popular song. The back of her heels kicking the base of the bench kept time with the music. He rolled his eyes and tried to relax. It didn't work and his knee jiggled, making everything bounce. He tried to stop it, but it just started up again when he wasn't paying attention. His entire body felt light.
Rikku's eyes narrowed and she lifted her head. "What's wrong?"
"Nothing."
Her eyes narrowed a little further. "Gippal." She said in her best 'do not make me beat this out of you' tone.
His jaw clenched. "You don't have to sit so close to me."
"Why not? I want to."
"But I smell." He said and it came out more like a whine. He hadn't intended it to be whiney. He grimaced. She blinked at him, clearly not understanding. He tried again. "I smell, bad, like I need to take a shower and use soap."
All the muscles in her face relaxed and she began to smile. It didn't reassure him. She wiggled about until her chest was pressed against his arm. He swallowed. "You think so?" She asked, biting her lip.
"Yeah."
Her head tilted to the side and she inhaled at the base of his neck. "Mmm, I don't think so." She inhaled again. "You smell sweaty and manly." He felt a warm wet streak start at the base of his neck and he flushed when he realized it was her tongue. "Taste good too." She murmured right into his ear. His back stiffened.
"Rikku." He hissed. They were in a public place where anyone could walk in on them at any time. Anyone, like her father or her brother who could make his life miserable over something she had started. It wouldn't be at all fair, but life never was when you were dating Cid's darling baby girl even if you did own your own company and had helped save the world.
She ignored him. She slid into his lap in what looked like a complex maneuver of throwing a leg over his lap and shifting her hips until she was pressed tightly against him. She placed their entwined hands on her back and then slipped hers out. He swallowed as she glanced up at him. The stars reflected in her eyes in such a way that it didn't look like she was up to mischief or dazzled by him. It was something else, something more primal, more passionate. Half her mouth turned up. "Let me prove it to you." She said, phrasing each word with her lips until they mesmerized him.
There was a slight jolt when her lips touched his. It short-circuited his brain and he forgot about everything else.
