"Congratulations, James Potter. You have twins!" a nurse said as she handed the two bassinets to the shocked man. Looking over the two, his gaze fell upon the one labeled Harry Potter. "Not too impressive." he thought as he looked at the peacefully sleeping baby. Turning his attention to the other baby, who was still awake and crying his eyes out in his bassinet labeled Alan S. Potter, his eyes glazed over with pride and he thought in triumph, "That's my son!" Pretending to be unbalanced slightly, he handed Harry to Lily (who'd just gotten out of the maternity ward) under the pretense of not wanting to drop him as to focus on Alan, his true son in his opinion.
….
Over the next year, life had become harder for both Lily and Harry. James had shown his true colors as a womanizing pervert, and quickly began to ignore Lily and Harry in favor of Alan. Lily was barely able to tolerate his coming home drunk and with lipstick marks on his face every weekend, and by Harry's first birthday, she was just about ready to get a divorce. However, her plan was ruined by Dumbledore, or as she liked to call him, 'The meddling old goat'. He'd informed them in the prophecy and had made them stay in the Godric's Hollow cottage instead of the Potter Manor. His reasoning was that the manor was too obvious, but it seemed like he was trying to get them killed to her! Adding in James' constant requests to only focus on Alan, Lily thought it was a miracle that she hadn't snapped yet.
….
All Hallow's Eve, 1991
….
A loud bang ripped through the house as the door burst open in a flash of red light. "Grab Alan and run!" James called out. "I'll handle this!" Growling slightly in anger at being ordered around, Lily grabbed Alan before running upstairs to his and Harry's bedroom because there was no back exit. Sighing in relief, James turned to Lord Voldemort. "Now that the bitch is gone, let's make a deal." he smirked as he began the bargaining process. I'll let you kill her and Harry as long as you let me and Alan flee." With an evil grin growing on his face as he listened to James' offer, Lord Voldemort eagerly agreed before restarting their 'duel'..
"Deal." he hissed out, moving up the stairs as they continued their farce. Reaching the Nursery, he pretended to knock James unconscious before entering the room. Immediately casting Avada Kedavra at Harry, he smirked as Lily jumped in front of the spell, sacrificing her life to buy her son a few more seconds. "Pathetic." he hissed out, stomping over to Harry for the grand finale. "Time to die, Potter!" he gleefully shouted. "Avada Kedavra!" he roared, sending the bolt of green light at Harry, not expecting a golden dome to form around the infant and send his spell right back at him.
….
The house was shook to its' foundations as a large BOOM rocked the structure, destroying a side and leaving Harry with a lightning bolt scar and a burn in the shape of a pair of wings on his back. Crying at having his naptime interrupted, Alan began screaming for attention as a piece of his broken crib scratched a 'V' onto his forehead. It was at this moment Dumbledore and James strode into the room. "James, Alan is the chosen one! Voldemort has marked him with his power! Look at the v-shaped scar on his head!" Dumbledore proclaimed. James rushed over to the crib and held Alan tightly, ignoring Harry's burns and new scar. "My boy, may I suggest giving Harry to the Dursleys? They'll take the boy in, and it'll allow you to fully concentrate on Alan." Dumbledore proposed.
Nodding his head vigorously, James replied "Sure! He'd just hold Alan back anyway." before walking out of the room. Smiling, Dumbledore wrapped Harry up in some scattered blankets and apparated to Number 4 Privet Drive. Conjuring a basket and a letter, he left the boy on the doorstep, completely aware Harry was the chosen one, not Alan. "This is all for the greater good." he thought. "This will make the boy properly malleable and obedient, handy for the final battle against Tom and his necessary sacrifice." chuckling, he bound Harry's magic and apparated away, happy that decades of planning have finally advanced to the endgame, the final stage to make him the forever revered leader of the light.
….
The next three years were hell on earth for young Harry. After almost being stepped on by the bony horse of a woman that was his aunt, he was set to work as soon as he was physically able to do so. The Dursleys had hated the fact they were saddled with one of them, but they were happy to note they got a lot of free work and a punching bag out of it. Since he'd turned three, he'd been used as a target for Dudley to practice the boxing lessons he'd been taking on, with Vernon sometimes stepping in and 'helpfully demonstrating' how to correctly do something. He barely got any food as well, with the tiny scraps of leftovers that he got barely enough to keep him alive. Unknown to him, that would all change that very day.
It was his birthday, the worst day of the year to be young Harry Potter. After cooking breakfast as best as he could, he was beaten by both Dudley and Vernon for not being good enough. Soon after, he was set to work, being forced to setup a stone birdbath in the garden because his Aunt decided they needed one. Barely finishing within the set time limit of two hours, Harry was approached by Vernon once more for Dudley's lessons. Soon afterwards he was being hammered by two sets of fists, Vernon deciding to join in again. However, he didn't feel pain this time. Instead, he just felt a strange sense of warmth flow through his body, followed by a massive surge of power that he'd never felt before. It was his magic, having finally broken the bonds placed on him so long ago and having grown immensely powerful as a result. Seeing his dearest wish was to finally be in a safe place with somebody who would love him, it complied as best as it could. Before the next blow hit, his body flashed golden and vanished, gone from his native universe.

Meanwhile, in another place
….
Ashura 'Ash' Ketchum's mother led him to a clearing in far-off Unova, keeping a fake smile on her face so her child wouldn't suspect anything. Secretly, she hated the child, blaming him for her lack of status as a high-ranking trainer and hating the Oaks for keeping a vigilant eye on the little bastard for four years. As such, she couldn't get rid of the pest - until now. Sitting him down in the clearing, she told him "Wait here, I'll be back with the food for the picnic soon." before walking back into the woods, never intending to return.
Ash waited for an hour before standing up. Beginning to walk over to the path he entered from, he was distracted by a large flash of light and a soft thud. Heading over to the fading golden glow, Ash saw a 4-year old boy, heavily wounded and barely breathing. Hearing a rustle from behind him, Ash whirled around, desperately hoping his mom had finally returned. When two figures stepped through the brush, the young boy's heart sank. Neither was his mother, causing him to finally realize he'd been left behind.
….
The two escaped pokemon stared at the young boys in the clearing, completely forgetting their current predicament. Having recently escaped from the Team Plasma labs, the two were wounded, hungry, and permanently stuck in their Mega forms due to an experiment by the group. While they'd normally pass by humans as quickly as possible, the two there were children, and both Pokemon had been mothers before their capture. Ignoring her body's protests, the Lucario stumbled over to the wounded child and formed a blue sphere of aura, putting all of her remaining energy into it. Beginning to fade away, she pushed the orb into the child's chest, and watched as the wounds closed.
Turning around, she looked at her partner, somebody she viewed as a sister in all but blood, and whispered "Please take care of them, Theia." Unable to vocalize a response, the Ampharos jerkily nodded, knowing why her partner acted as she did. Allowing a small smile to creep onto her face, the Lucario finally disappeared, leaving behind a crying Ampharos and two children.
….
1 month later
….
Theia was at her wits' end. She'd taken the kids and had managed to sneak onto a plane to Johto, hoping to find a herd of Ampharos to take both her and the kids in. However, when they arrived in Johto, they were promptly discovered in the plane and barely managed to escape into the forest. They searched for a month before finally finding a herd of her kind, and she was overjoyed at finally having a place to call home. What she didn't expect was for the herd to turn her away due to her differing appearance, even after explaining that she'd been experimented on. Her dreams shattered, she wandered Johto with the two children, avoiding both cities and herds. Ash and Harry kept wandering into trouble, forcing her to save the kids and helping her to come to terms with her dark past.
….
The fully matured Reshiram (having long since shed the plume of fur on her front that signifies immaturity) fled from a Zekrom who'd once been her mate. Flying away as fast as possible, she transformed into a Dratini and slithered away into a forest once she'd reached land. Curling up around a nearby rock, she mentally shut down, tired from both her long flight and the constant feeling of terror.
A few hours later, she woke up to a small child holding her tightly while squealing out "Kawaii!" Squirming wildly, she attempted to pull away from the surprisingly strong child before giving up due to the lacking strength of her current form. Resigned to her fate, she awaited capture, only to realize she was just being snuggled tightly. Looking around, she spotted another human child and a chuckling pokemon she didn't recognize standing by. Deciding to accept the strange circumstances, she curled up in his lap and began purring deeply as she was pet. After a hour of relaxation, she felt a pull in the back of her mind and stiffened.
"No no no, not now! Don't do this to me, Arceus!" she thought desperately, not wanting to face her ex-mate. A moment later, she and every living human or pokemon in the nearby area flashed into the Hall of Judgement.
….
The legendaries looked at the opening portal in irritation. Reshiram still hadn't shown up, infuriatingly enough, and they just wanted this to be over with. Seeing the portal flash, they tensed in anticipation, only to get a major shock as two human children, a Dratini, and an unknown pokemon tumble through and land in a heap. Exiting the pile quickly, the Dratini quickly began to glow, not knowing she was still under one of the humans.
In a plume of white light, Reshiram grew to full size, accidentally scooping up one of the human children. "Alright, I'm here. What is it?" she bit out, tense and annoyed at the unexpected meeting. Looking at each other, the Legendaries gulped and Arceus spoke up. "We have received word from Zekrom that you have been ignoring your duties and fled today for an unknown reason. What do you have to say?"
Utterly shocked, Reshiram glanced over to see a smirking Zekrom. Realizing what he was up to, she saw red and spat out the truth. "The reason is that he saw fit to try and keep me imprisoned in my own nest while using me outside of mating season! You go and fulfill your duties after being used by another constantly! I was escaping from him, not shirking my duties!
Shocked, all the legendaries turned to face the dragon, who shrugged carelessly. "You can't replace me anyway. There is no other Zekrom out there, and you do need a dragon of ideals." he stated, face nearly split with a shit-eating grin. Realizing they were trapped, the legendaries were about to give up before hearing "I'll take the job!" from the unknown pokemon in the corner.
"Are you even a dragon?" Rayquaza asked in disbelief, looking to Arceus to confirm it. However, before Arceus could speak, Ash poked his head out of the pile and yelled, "Don't insult Mommy!" causing the various legendaries to look at him in surprise. Letting out a squeak, he ducked back behind Theia as Arceus began to speak. "Yes, since this is a Mega Ampharos, it is a dragon-type. However," and with this she turned to Theia, "I'll need to read your mind to make sure your intents are pure."
"Wait, what -" Theia began before Arceus blurted out "Reading your mind now!" as her eyes flashed blue as she delved into Theia's mind. A few seconds later, Arceus stumbled back, sporting a new nosebleed and unfocused eyes before shaking her head and regaining her composure. "Can we just start the duel already?!" Theia asked impatiently, annoyed at the god of pokemon for reading her mind.
Nodding, Arceus stomped her foot and transformed the Hall into a coliseum, teleporting everyone to the stands. "Begin in 3… 2… 1… 0!" she called out as the two launched a thunderbolt at each other to begin their duel of Electrokinesis. Sparks crackled through the air, leaving scents of ozone as the two fought in a swirling whirlpool of blue and yellow light.
Forming a blue dome of electricity around himself, Zekrom began firing blasts of draconic energy at the approaching Theia. Quickly setting up a Light Screen, she walked through the surprisingly weak blasts before slamming a Focus Punch into the shocked behemoth´s stomach, sending him flying across the room and into a pillar. Not bothering to wait for him to emerge, Theia charged up a Dragon Pulse and blasted the coliseum wall with it, stone shards flying through the air as the violet blast hit.
Stumbling out from the wall, Zekrom let out a pain-filled screech before encompassing his body in draconic energy and lunging towards his smirking opponent. Using a quick Double Team to dodge his rage-filled lunge, she hit Zekrom with a quick Confuse Ray, sending him into madness as he flailed wildly around. As she watched, he rammed into the side of the coliseum and finally fell still, occasionally twitching sporadically.
"All hail the new Dragon of Truth, Theia!" Arceus bellowed, before turning to Theia with a gleam in her eye. "Time for an appearance change!"
"Wait, what-" Theia began, but was cut off by a white flash of light around her. Her body grew to be 3 meters tall, while her body developed black stripes and her arms grew clawed hands. Two black and yellow wings burst from her back, and the gem on her head turned into a red crown while the body finally slimmed down. Upon the reveal of her new form, Reshiram sported a massive blush, thankfully hidden by her white fur. "Must not go down there and ravish hot new dragon." she thought to herself repeatedly, unaware of Harry slipping off her back and running up to stand with Ash at the platform, who was smiling and waving to their mother.
Testing her new wings out, Theia unsteadily rose into the air, spending a little time to figure out the complex nuances of flight. Getting it down rather quickly, she flew over to pick up her children before looking with an unpleasant gleam in her eye towards Reshiram. Addressing Arceus, she asked, "Can you teleport the four of us somewhere where we won't be observed or overheard? We are going to have a little 'talk'."she said, stressing the world 'talk'.
"No, no, wait, that is a terrible idea -" Reshiram began before the group of four was flashed away in a pillar of pink light. "Goddamnit." she finished with a sigh as they appeared in a unoccupied desert. "Well, I'm right fucked, aren't I?" she asked sarcastically, turning to her fellow dragon.
"Right in the down under!" was the only response she got before being hit with a thunder. After getting back up from the powerful bolt, Reshiram immediately fled with Theia in close pursuit. "GET BACK AND TAKE YOUR PUNISHMENT LIKE A DRAGON!" Theia roared, unknowingly charging a Fusion Bolt.
….
Ash and Harry watched in awe as the two dragons fought overhead, with bright lights and flashing colors of destruction overshadowing the cloudy sky. At that moment, Ash and Harry both realized they were just like the two dragons; one was wild and passionate, and another was quiet and intelligent. And in that very same moment, his magic misinterpreted that thought and acted up. A golden glow burst into life around the two, signifying their metamorphosis into a pokemon form. However, because there was two people and his magic was still slightly weak from the interdimensional transport, something unexpected happened.
Large white wings burst out of Harry's upper back and white fur formed around his eyes, which changed to a vibrant blue. His arms grew white fur and claws in the shape of a gauntlet, with sharp tufts on the outside while his legs grew fur and claws as well. As the golden light dimmed around him, a large white tail grew out of his tailbone with red and orange highlights trailing along the edges. The tufts of his hair, already nearing the nape of his neck, grew to encompass the entirety of his back and turned a stark, bright white. Gold and blue flame crackled around him in a shower of sparks as the metamorphosis finally stopped, leaving him drained beyond belief.
Ash underwent a similar transformation, with jet-black wings bursting out of his back while black scales surrounded his eyes. Scales and claws grew on both his legs and arms, with red gems decorating the edges. A large black tail grew out the back, with electric blue stripes lining it while his hair grew out to immense lengths, electric shocks traversing the hair and making it into spikes. Finally, a large red gem half surfaced from his chest, letting out a burst of blue and red electricity as the corona of light surrounding him died down.
….
Feeling the massive spike in power, the two warring dragons dived down, finding the two kids checking out their new features. Finally deciding to just give up on this day, Theia fainted while Reshiram's jaw dropped to epic proportions. Completely unaware of the two adults nearby, Ash continued playing with his new body as Harry staggered over to Theia and collapsed on top of her. Reshiram followed suit soon after, causing Ash to pout at their perceived disinterest.
….
A few hours later.
….
Theia woke up grumbling to herself about "One hell of a day" and how it "Started so well". Attempting to get up, she found she couldn't and quickly located the reason why. Her son Harry (how exactly did he change the two of them into pokemon-human hybrids?) had curled up right underneath her (mostly hidden by her fur) breasts while Reshiram was using her as a pillow. Ash (she could appreciate him having the red gems like her) was using her belly as his mattress, resting his head on Reshiram's pillow-like hair. Raising her one free arm, she gently tapped Harry's head, signifying it was time to wake up. Yawning loudly, he slid off her and proceeded to wake up both Ash and Reshiram.
Deciding to start off by clarifying what exactly happened the previous night, Theia turned to Harry and asked, "What happened?" wholly confused about how the transformation happened. Trying to remember, Harry responded with "A strange golden light came out of my body and made both me and Ash into these." he responded, gesturing to his body as he spoke. "I kinda want my body back, though…" he murmured as he reverted to normal.
"Ash, try thinking of your old body." Theia told him, and breathed out a sigh of relief as he transformed back. "At least the change was reversible" Theia thought in relief. Pushing that aside for the moment, she realized the unpleasant reality of the situation. "We have to go and live with both other pokemon and humans." she groaned loudly. "It's not like we'll be able to stay undercover, what with the wings, 3 meter height and whatnot."
Looking at her like she was an idiot, Reshiram asked, "You do know we can transform, right?" Theia froze before spinning around and looking at Reshiram. "Why didn't you tell me this before?" she asked sweetly, in a tone that implied that you'd better be damned careful about answering. Undaunted, Reshiram shot back, "What, was I supposed to give you the 'how to be a legendary' introduction when you were trying to horribly maim me?"
Slightly chastised, Theia looked down for a moment before screwing up her face in concentration. She glowed a dim blue that obscured her body as she shrunk down to human size. There were only two problems - one: she was naked, and two: she'd somehow grown a set of male genitalia in addition to that of her female genitalia. Blushing heavily in embarrassment after she noticed Reshiram's stare, she filed it away under 'rage about later' category and concentrated again, this time forming a set of clothing. Putting them on, she quickly got used to her human body's nuances, and was ready to go. Transforming into a human, Reshiram opened up a cell phone and called Mew in the Hall of Judgement. "Can you teleport us to Alola?" - "Got it, thanks." she replied, turning the phone off. A few seconds later, they saw a pink flash before lush new scenery appeared. "Welcome to Alola!" Reshiram announced.
"Why exactly did you choose here of all places?" Theia asked. "It's because people won't look at us as weirdly as they would in say, Kalos or Sinnoh." Reshiram responded casually, already walking along the meadow they appeared in. Ash and Harry quickly followed, eager to explore as Theia stared at Reshiram's retreating form. "Dear Arceus she's hot." Theia thought, before shaking her head furiously and following the kids and her fellow dragon.
….
As they meandered through the meadow, Theia saw her kids transform back into their hybrid forms as to better explore the area. Though, there was an unexpected side effect to transforming. While the pokemon were already naturally attracted to the two kids, they flocked to them in droves upon the transformation, leaving the two kids a bit overwhelmed at the sheer amount of pokemon. Stopping for a short amount of time, the kids organized a large game of tag which somehow dragged the two adults into it. Upon reaching the end of the clearing, the tired (albeit very happy) group came upon a large gathering of Primarina and their previous evolutions, who were happily performing for each other.
Seeing the group, including the (still transformed) Ash and Harry, the eldest Primarina approached warily. "What are you doing here?" he inquired brusquely, preparing to defend the tribe if it was needed. Deciding to try and explain their presence, Theia stepped forward to defend the group verbally. Opening her mouth, Theia was cut off by the old Primarina. "It does not matter. Leave now or face attacks aimed with extreme prejudice."
Angered by the dismissal of the elder, the air around Theia began crackling with the smell of ozone. Smirking, the elder prepared for combat, staring down the transformed dragon. Fleeing the scene, the terrified Harry hid behind Reshiram while Ash looked on in awe at the oncoming battle. "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING, YOU GODDAMNED IDIOT!" another Primarina yelled, sending the elder flying with a Sparkling Aria as she jumped towards the group. "Sorry about that. The idiot likes to think he's in charge and the most powerful Primarina there is. I'm the actual chief." she explained, turning around to face the group.
"Then, can we please enter?" Harry asked quietly, having hesitantly poked his head out from his hiding place behind Reshiram. Adopting a near scandalized expression, the chief nodded vigorously and replied, "Of course! This festival is for everyone to enjoy! Now if you don't mind, I need to deal with the usurper." before sliding towards the crash site on a curtain of water.
….
Harry cautiously wandered through the gathering. He was still wary about doing anything due to the hostile elder, and while he enjoyed listening to the songs permeating the air, he just didn't feel comfortable in the packed atmosphere. Eventually finding a quieter area, he flopped down on the ground and breathed a sigh of relief. Feeling a sense of relief from escaping the crowds and noise, he relaxed, unaware of the nearby pokemon.
"Popplio?" a quiet voice called as a pair of eyes and a nose popped out of the grass. "Who are you? Are you here to torment me as well?" the tiny pokemon asked the strange creature. Giving a brief start at the unexpected voice, Harry found the source poking out of the tall grass. Walking over, Harry gently picked up the young seal-like pokemon and held it a tight hug. Squirming slightly as the small human cradled it tightly, Popplio calmed down as she felt the tears leaking from his eyes and heard a quiet whisper of, "Somebody like me," from him.
For a long time they sat together in silence, enjoying the other's company and going unnoticed by the world around them. Feeling comfortable enough to begin speaking around Harry, Popplio began to tell him why she was an outcast. "I am nearly mute. As a result I can't sing, and one of the defining aspects of my species is forever locked away. Abandoned by my parents, left to the lycanroc of this world, I'm only alive because the chief took me in. Even then, I have no friends, and aside from her, nobody gets close to the silent freak." Popplio whispered out.
They stayed silent for a few more minutes before Harry put her down and showed her his (untransformed) back. Shocked at the spiderweb of scars crisscrossing his body, Popplio froze in horror as Harry informed her, "These are all from my only living family. I was lucky to find Theia and Ash." Transforming back into his hybrid form, Popplio gave Harry a hug once he turned back to her.
They sat together for a few more minutes before hearing Theia's calls for Harry and Ash. "Can you take me with you? I have nothing for me here." Popplio hesitantly asked. Smiling down at her, Harry nodded and picked her up in a gentle, but firm hold. Heading over to the meeting area, they saw Harry's group and the Chief. Hopping out of Harry's arms, Popplio went to her adopted mother and explained the situation to her. Tearing up, the chief hugged her tightly and whispered, "I'll miss you, Cordelia. Remember, I'll always be here for you." before turning away and mournfully making her way back into the gathering.
Hopping back into Harry's waiting arms, Cordelia closed her eyes, saying a silent goodbye to the one person she loved before the group of five disappeared in a pink flash.
….
Appearing in front of a relatively fancy house, Reshiram walked up to the door and pulled out a set of keys. "Welcome to 'yawn' Poni Island. There's a lot of area to explore and not many towns, so we can relax a little. Now, I'm going to sleep." she told them before heading upstairs and closing a door. Yawning themselves, Harry and Cordelia found another room and closed the door to it as well. Theia just plopped herself down on the nearest couch before instantly snoozing, and Ash followed both Harry and Reshiram's examples.
….
The next day
….
The smell of cooking food wafted up the stairs and into Reshiram's closed room. In her sleep, her brain recognized the smell and sent a mental wake-up slap of "WAKE UP, DUMBASS!" Waking up still slightly punch-drunk, Reshiram looked around slowly for a while before sniffing the air and realizing there was good food being cooked. "FOOD!" she mentally roared as she burst out of her room and flew down the stairs into the kitchen. Keep in mind, Reshiram was horrible at cooking and lived with another bad cook for a while, so good food was rare in the morning. Seeing Harry having already cooked the heavenly-smelling food and set the table had just blown her mind.
Snatching the surprised child up as she hugged him in joy, Reshiram spun around to face Theia as she entered the room and told her in no uncertain terms, "We are keeping this kid."
Waving her off, Theia replied, "I know, I know. I was always planning on keeping Harry anyway. He's like a son, just from another species. Now, let me get my morning dose of Tamato Berry juice and I'll be good to go." completely missing the wide grin on Harry's face from those words.
….
After a satisfying breakfast, Ash and Harry ran off into the yard with an exasperated and slightly annoyed Cordelia chasing after the two. Transforming back into their hybrid forms, the two once more found themselves the center of attention in the yard. Finally catching up, Cordelia swatted Harry's leg and gave him and Ash a withering look, prompting the two to scratch their heads in slight embarrassment. With that action, the massive amount of pokemon in the yard rushed towards the trio to play, all illusions of them being mean or pompous broken. Staring at the oncoming flood of Pokemon, the only sound the three could make was a simple, quiet "Eep." as the first pokemon reached them.
After a few hours of playing with the kids (leaving everyone exhausted), the wild pokemon scattered into the nearby woods, leaving behind a few who wanted to stay with the kids. A friendly Mareep had stayed behind, wanting to spend more time with the outgoing and equally energetic Ash. A female Pichu stuck around as well, seeing the young Ash as a potential big brother to the lonely baby pokemon. Harry ended up with a female Snivy who was mocked and driven out of her home by her parents for having her hidden ability, Contrary. She'd found a kindred spirit in both him and Popplio, and eventually decided to head home with him. Smiling at making a new friend, Harry finally felt like he had a true family.
….
Six Years Later
….
"WAKE UP, ASH!" Harry yelled, smacking his sleeping brother awake. Today was the day they got their 'starters' from Professor Oak, having 'moved' to Kanto two years ago. After recognizing the sound of Ash punching his alarm clock across the room again, Harry decided to literally take matters into his own hands this morning. Still drowsy from the rude awakening, Ash barely managed to sit up and look at his surrogate brother.
"Harry? What's going on?" he managed to mumble out, infuriating Harry beyond belief.
"YOU BLOODY IDIOT! IF I LET YOU SLEEP IN, WE'D MISS OUR CHANCE AT GETTING A STARTER DUE TO YOU AND YOUR NEAR HIBERNATION OF SLEEP!" he roared, shocking Ash completely awake. Shoving Harry out of his room, Ash dug through his dresser and soon found an outfit for the day. Throwing it on as fast as he possibly could, he grabbed his hat and ran out into the hallway and then into the kitchen. Checking the clock, he saw it was 7:30; one hour before they had to be at the lab. Scarfing down his meal in 15 minutes, he was about to race out the door when he was grabbed by a very annoyed Theia.
"Wait for your brother, Ash." she reminded him as a bowlegged Reshiram staggered down the stairs and slowly settled down on the plush recliner with a cup of coffee, supported by a smirking Harry. "After you get your pokemon, come back here right away so we can say goodbye!" Theia yelled to the two brothers as they headed out to Oak Ranch, a good 30 minute walk at a leisurely pace.
Still smirking, Harry called back "Okay, Mom! I'll let you two get back to your deep conversation now. I hope it's pleasant!" turning Theia to a sputtering mess as he put extra emphasis on 'deep'. Arriving at the lab at 8:15, they opened the door to find Professor Oak asleep on his desk. Poking the sleeping man awake, Harry reminded the groggy adult, "Professor, you should probably be getting the starters ready now. It's 8:15." prompting the man to snap to being fully awake and rush around the lab wildly while the two preteens watched in barely veiled amusement.
….
"Today is the day you receive your starter! You can choose Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle. However, you can also choose to receive a different starter if you truly wish to have one. There is also a rather ornery Pikachu in the group of starters. Take your pick now." Oak lectured the four trainers as they stared at the four pokeballs in front of them. Shouldering his way to the front of the pack, Gary looked back at the others with a smirk. Grabbing the ball that held Squirtle, he turned around and poked Ash in the chest.
"I'm taking the best starter and there's nothing you can do about it, Ashy-boy." he sneered. The brothers simply looked at each other before bursting out into laughter, irritating the cocky teen. Growling slightly in anger, Gary stomped off into the background as the only girl in the group of four chose a Bulbasaur.
Seeing no reason to not let Ash take Pikachu, Harry reached over for Charmander before his arm was grabbed by Professor Oak. "Harry, listen carefully. This Charmander was only recently rescued from his previous owner, a trainer called Damian. He will work himself half to death if you let your attention falter. However, if we find any evidence of you abusing that tendency, your license will be taken away so quickly your head will spin. Do I make myself clear?" Oak lectured him with a ironclad tone.
Giving the man an offended look, Harry replied with "Why the hell would I do that, Professor?!" before taking the pokeball and retreating into the line quickly. Abashed, Oak scratched his head and chuckled as Ash stepped forward and grabbed the pokeball holding a Pikachu. Remembering what the Professor had said about the pokemon being very ornery, he simply stepped back into line and waited for the two most important things to be handed out.
Luckily for them, Oak didn't disappoint in that regard. "Now, you'll each be receiving a Pokedex and five pokeballs. I recently improved the pokedex so it can scan pokemon from other regions as well, not just Kanto and Johto. Additionally, you can now set the location your pokemon are sent to when caught. Since I'm sure you know how to catch a pokemon in the first place (you were my students after all), go out and see the world in a new light as a pokemon trainer! Now if you don't mind, I'm going to sleep for 16 hours." he told them before yawning loudly and staggering into his upstairs room.
Ignoring Gary, who was calling for a battle, Ash and Harry walked out the door and back towards their house. While walking home, Ash and Harry talked about what the new pokemon would mean for their team, cracking jokes about each other, and just relaxing until their house came into sight. Opening the door to their house, Harry ran over to his adoptive parents and began talking excitedly as he gave them a huge hug. After a few minute of him explaining the events over at the lab, he ran upstairs and knocked on Cordelia's door.
Opening the door, Cordelia gave Harry a large hug with her two flippers before asking "How did the starting ceremony go?" Having evolved twice in the six years with the family, the Primarina had managed to gain her voice upon her final evolution. While still very quiet for her evolutionary line, she was able to use her species' aptitude for sonic attacks with immense precision and power. Harry smiled before slipping back into the pokemon tongue himself.
"It went really well! However, can you please round up the others? I have two very important pieces of news." he told Cordelia as she nodded rapidly. Beckoning him into the room, she gently shook the others awake as he sat down on her bed. As they slowly woke up, the various pokemon throughout the room stretched themselves out and made their way over to Harry.
Serperior cooed out a hello as she curled up again in Harry's lap, content to snooze for a little longer. Harry's Dragonair, which he found as a Dratini when he'd accidentally teleported into the Safari Zone, curled around his neck in a manner similar to that of Serperior and nuzzled his cheek gently. An Eevee gently padded on top of Serperior and nuzzled him before jumping over to Primarina. Her story was one of betrayal, and she was still adversely affected by it.
She'd lived in the famous Evolution Town, and was taken care of by her trainer Mikey and his three brothers. They'd also taken her nestmates with them, and initially everything was fine. They'd grown attached to their trainers, though she was still slightly wary due to her trainer feeling slightly hostile and hungry towards the tiny foxes. Eventually, her wariness proved helpful to the paranoid little fox. Her trainer had shown up with multiple evolution stones, hoping to make her the most powerful eeveelution possible.. When she'd batted them away, he growled hatefully and plunged her into the pile of stones, causing a sickly yellow light to emanate from the pain-wracked pokemon.
However, the stones burst in a massive plume of light after that action, and Mikey was left with stone shards in his arms as he glared hatefully at Eevee. His brothers rushed over, carrying their new Jolteon, Vaporeon, and Flareon by their collars as they struggled to break free. When the trio saw Eevee, they yelled at her to run from the humans before they got to her too. Struggling to her feet, she ran as fast as she could for an entire day before collapsing and being found by Harry.
He'd rushed her home and healed her immediately, worrying over her for a while and earning her intrigue. Once she was able to move, she'd wandered through the house, eventually coming across the other pokemon: Cordelia (who was still a Brionne), a Servine, and a Dratini. After talking to the other pokemon, she decided to stay with the human who'd piqued her interest. That was a few years ago, and she had yet to regret her decision. Unfortunately, she now only trusted four 'humans': Reshiram, Theia, Ash, and Harry.
Harry was snapped out of his musing as the last member of his team tottered over, being gently supported by Cordelia. The Amaura nuzzled his face as she cooed in delight at seeing her father, cuddling up to him as he reached out of the pile of Pokemon to rub between the sails on her head. He'd actually gotten her egg from Xerneas and Yveltal as a birthday present. Needless to say, he was pleasantly surprised when it hatched into the adorable, albeit nearly extinct Pokemon who immediately took to him as her father. It was very embarrassing, what with Theia's comments of 'I'm too young to be a grandmother' and Reshiram's constant fussing over the two of them. Either way, she was surprisingly powerful for her species, and had become a staple of his 'team'.
Returning to business, he quickly got their attention and began. "Now, today is the day I became a legal trainer. As such, I have two pieces of information for you. I can now capture you and make it so it's impossible to take you away (at this the sounds of cheering resonated in the room), and we've got a new teammate." he explained. The others eagerly leaned forward, waiting to be introduced before he held up a hand to stop them. "However," he continued, "They were a victim of trainer abuse, and will literally work themselves half to death for approval. So, I'm counting on you to provide a supportive environment and keep an eye on him."
All of the Pokemon nodded seriously, knowing that the new addition would take time to warm up to them. Satisfied, Harry pressed the release button and watched in anticipation as the Charmander emerged from the ball. "Where am I?" the little lizard asked frantically, turning around wildly to catch a glimpse of a familiar location.
Appearing as harmless as possible, Harry approached the Charmander and held out his hand. "You're in my house. I'm about to start my journey as a trainer, and Professor Oak gave you to me as my official starter. Do you want to be part of our family?" he asked with a gentle smile.
Hesitantly, the Charmander replied, "I guess. Just… promise me I won't have to win battles for food and water?" as he stretched out his arm to hold his trainer's hand.
Keeping his face on a happy smile, Harry began drawing up overly complicated assassination plans for Damien. "If I ever see that bastard, I'll break his everything real good." he mentally snarled, before gently grabbing the surprised lizard and picking him up. "Sure! Actually, if you ever want to talk about it, me and a few members of my team have had… similar experiences. We'll understand." he told the shocked Charmander before a loud BOOM echoed through the house. "I'll return you now, okay?" he asked, getting a nod from the Charmander before he was sucked into the ball. "What the hell is Ash doing?" he muttered, his pokemon loyally following him as they headed towards Ash's room.

1 hour later
….
"Let me get this straight." Harry began, trying to keep a straight face. "When you released your Pikachu, it immediately tried to zap you, only for your pokemon to retaliate in kind before you blocked them, destroying the door in the process. After that, you immediately transformed into your hybrid form (without meaning to, as well), which awed the Pikachu so much it swore undying loyalty to you, and it's now trying to woo your female Alolan Raichu with some level of success. Additionally, every last pokemon you own has already caught itself for you." he summarized, barely holding in his laughter at the 'WTF' look on Ash's face. "Good job, Ash! I'll go capture my pokemon now, we'll head out once you repair your room. Bye!" he laughed out, finally bursting into laughter as he walked away.
Upon arriving downstairs, he whistled for his other pokemon. They made their way over to him as fast as they could, each wanting to be the first one there. "Alright, settle down everyone." Harry chuckled as he surveyed the scene. Walking through the group, he tapped each Pokemon's head with a Pokeball, each dinging to signify an instant capture. Letting out everybody one last time, he explained what would normally happen when travelling; Serperior would ride on his neck and shoulders, Charmander would walk alongside them, and the others could accompany them when they were alone. While initially disappointed, they calmed down after hearing his reasoning. If he had Serperior, he'd have a less conspicuous second pair of eyes than if he took Dragonair. Charmander also wouldn't attract much attention, and would have an easier time moving on the road than Primarina or Amaura.
As Ash finally fixed his door, Harry returned his other Pokemon and the two brothers walked out into the wilderness, stopping only to say goodbye to Theia and Reshiram.
….
It was a really nice day on Route 1. Ash was trying to stop Raichu from jumping Pikachu's bones (much to Harry's amusement), Serperior was soaking up the sunlight, and Charmander was enjoying just being able to spend time in the sun without battle. Of course, this was not to last, as a large plume of smoke went up in the distance while a roar of "GYARADOS!" shook the forest, followed up by a very feminine scream that was clearly human. Returning Charmander, Harry ran towards the source, only to find an orangette trying to defeat a Gyarados with only a Staryu… deciding to help the idiot out, Harry released Amaura and told it to use Freeze-Dry, turning the rampaging creature into an ice sculpture.
"IT'S ABOUT TIME YOU GOT HERE, SERVANT!" the orangette screeched. "THAT RESCUE TOOK TOO DAMN LONG! AS PUNISHMENT FOR NOT IMMEDIATELY RESCUING YOUR GOD, MISTY WATERFLOWER, YOU'LL NEED TO BE THE SERVANT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, AND KISS MY BEAUTIFUL FEET!" she proclaimed 'triumphantly', completely ignoring the dumbstruck looks on everybody's faces. "WELL?! GET ON WITH IT-" she began again, only to be blasted off into the distance with an Energy Ball, courtesy of Serperior.
Scratching between the tufts on her neck in unspoken thanks, Harry sighed in relief as they began their walk again, returning Amaura as they went along the path to Viridian. Smirking, he turned back to a stunned Ash and told him, "Look at it this way - the sheer ridicule of that encounter stopped the two lovebirds from trying to screw each other on your shoulders." before laughing and continuing down the path, only this time at a run to avoid a mortally embarrassed Ash's fury.

Well, I don't believe that's a horrible starting chapter per se. Yes, I'm getting back into Fanfiction writing, I just had a lot of things on my plate and too many story ideas to do anything at the time. As for what stories will continue - Gem of the Sea will be deleted (but thank you for the support), this will continue, and Soul Magic will be rewritten (to an extent). I hope to at least make some people happy with my writing. Thank you.
