Faith wasn't the smartest of people, but damn that girl was observant when she wanted to be. She caught every single look Buffy through her way and knew exactly what every single one of them meant. She saw the way Buffy blushed slightly when Faith casually and friendily kissed her cheek or forehead. And the way Buffy went ridged when she did it to anyone else.
And that was why when she spoke those taunting words, it hurt just a little more. 'Give us a kiss'. Ha! Y'know what's really bad though, Buffy almost did. She almost dropped everything, almost stopped the plan, almost put everyone in danger just because of Faith Lehane.
Faith will be the death of her. Mark my words.
"Just take what you need." Faith said, smiling. Genuinely smiling. She really did have a beautiful smile when she wasn't being sarcastic or smirking. It was the kind of smile that makes you want to smile.
Buffy wondered if she ever got butterflies when Buffy smiled. Probably not. No…
Faith stroked Buffy's cheek lovingly.
"You ready?" Truth was Buffy wasn't. She wanted to stay here. Yeah here was good. Here was nice. Buffy wanted to say this, say no, but she knew she couldn't. So instead Buffy just stood there and watched as everything went white around the edges.
Buffy woke up and quickly swung her legs off the bed and onto the cold floor. Buffy pushes the curtain to the side and saw Faith.
How could she of done this to her? To save Angel? Yeah well it didn't work so what was the point in this anyway? Here was Faith practically dead and here she was right as rain.
Buffy walked over to Faith's bed and leaned down. Buffy kissed Faith's forehead and let out every emotion she had when it came to Faith into that kiss. It was just a simple kiss on the forehead, but it meant so much more.
"I'm sorry." Buffy whispered so it was barely audible. And as she was sitting back up she saw Faith's lips move, so small that if she hadn't been so close she wouldn't've seen it.
"M' t'" (translating into 'Me too') Buffy just left. Her mind buzzing and her heart fluttering.
Maybe there was hope. Maybe she'll be able to figure this all out one day. For now she was content on dreaming, but one day hopefully those dreams would be reality.
