Guest (Fran): While yes, opinions matter, this is a METAFIC. You cannot tell someone's character from a few sentences, and I have never purposely set out to write a Mary Sue. As to the marriages, it is not only canonically but historically accurate that such a large age gap between spouses would happen- especially in the nobility, which Athos is, and his daughters by default. Also, d'Artagnan, despite Luke Pasqulino coming across as older, is twenty, and again, in the period when Musketeers is set, a twenty year old being engaged to a sixteen year old is of no issue. Do you remember Fleur Baudin? Her being forced to marry a man at least twice her age was accepted as a fact of life, the same with Constance.
