Court of Forbidden Dragons
(Prologue)
Chapter 1: The mysterious women
The screams and cries could be heard from every direction, as the streams of dark magic wreaked destruction and havoc on everything in its wake. The demon creatures who bared the mark of the ancestral children came from every direction slaughtering innocents their eyes black and soulless. In an underground passage of caves deep beneath the chaos and ruin was a hooded figure desperately running with a bundle of blankets in their arms. They winced remembering the shouts and cries of its people, turning corner after corner, trenching through the grim and water moving as fast as their legs could take them. It kept moving and kept a tight hold of the blankets to their chest, as it crossed over a rocky bridge to reach the end of the passage. The hooded figure climbed the jagged stairs the reveal four large shaped boulders circling one in the center, with engravings of ancient symbols craved onto their fronts. It approached the rocks and unveiled the hood revealing a beautiful woman with raven black hair, luminescent blue eyes, and tattooed marks that traced swirls along her arms as if it was some secret language.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she looked down at the bundle in her arms and saw a small infant stir. The child's survival was absolutely imperative, the entire fate of her race depended on it. The moment was short lived as she reached into her pocket to take out four small stones with engravings that matched each of the markings on the boulders as if they had summoned themselves the stones gravitated towards them and fit themselves onto the allocated surface. Instantly the stones began to awaken as the power flowed through the boulders like veins to the stones. The powers of the four stones had ignited and linked entrapping her and the infant, as she approached the middle boulder looking down to reveal ancient symbols lined down the middle. Taking a deep breath, she took a veil from around her neck and smeared a translucent liquid onto the baby's forehead, then placing the baby over the center boulder. The magic began to enclose around the infant as shielding it as it gravitated above the boulder. The 'hood' then placed her hand on the ancient symbols muttering the words of an ancient dracovian language. "Ngegazi lobukhosi lamadonsoni enhlanhla engiyidlulisela kulo…". Suddenly three malicious cackles emerged from the dark shadows of the cave. Appearing from the darkness were three female figures that had dark energy radiating off them. They were repulsive creatures covered in filth and grime, with beastly untamed hair. The females had different scarred symbols on their foreheads and tattoos covering their bodies, that were very noticeable through the thin exposing black fabric wrapped around them. All possessing individual features that would provoke paralyzing fear in even the bravest warriors.
The creatures kept spinning round and round the pillars until only their glowing eyes could be seen among the dark blurs. The continued to screech with laughter as the 'hood' drew out her sword and positioned herself in a battle stance. "Oh, Araceli did you really think you could hide her? Your losing your touch O'noble one" the first one sneered revealing her rotting teeth. "The last of the celestial dragon bloodline, too bad she won't live to reach her coronation," the second one said staring down the infant her eyes reflecting her madness. The 'hood' Araceli replied in a strong unwavering voice "As long as I live and breathe no harm shall come to the sole heir of Drayxon, I will avenge my brothers and sisters by destroying you with the Sidra, watching you desiccate slowly until you are nothing but bones and dust." Despite the forceful threat the sisters continued to howl, the first sister looked at Araceli "such an empty threat, it's disappointing really", "not a threat, a promise" she retorted. "I don't think so…" the sister seethed, her eyes flashing. Araceli turned back towards the princess, the last in the bloodline of the celestial dragons only she could inherit the magic of her ancestors. Araceli was trapped within the circle of pillars, nothing able to move in or out.
As a dark stream of power raced towards her she diverted the rays of dark magic with incredible agility and strength using her blade to deflect the rays now propelling from every direction, to protect the princess. She narrowly missed a jolt of darkness feeling the pain as it grazed her side. Her magic was drained from battling through the ruthless demons to get the princess to safety. She shrieked from pain as another dark strike shot through her back, causing her to fall to her knees. The sisters circling around her continued to howl and shriek "a fallen warrior, don't worry Araceli you'll join the rest of your race soon enough". Araceli on hands and knees felt the last remnants of her power coursing through the marks on her arms. She roared as she unleashed her true form upon the sisters revealing the glowing marks along her arms and her huge magnificent wings that been torn from battle. "This will be your end Drayxon, of you and your race", the sister's eyes flashed with an unholy rage as they began to strike. Araceli moved too fast as she swung her sword and held it above her yelling in dracovian "I summon the sword of Sidra I command you to unleash the mighty power of the Aeternum crystal". A powerful wave of energy burst throughout the cave as the sisters screamed and disappeared back into the shadows. Araceli quickly moved back to the infant who remained thankfully unscathed. She placed her aching bloodied hands onto the ancient runes, fully drained of all power recited different spell in Dracovian.
"By Dragon wing and Dragon claw,
May her defense be without flaw.
Shrouded by Dragon Might,
Protect from enemy sight.
Fly proudly, dragon bright,
Blind foes with thy light.
Full of rage and terrible ire,
Burn my assailants with dragon fire,
Dark and terrible be thy wrath.
By forces of dark and light
Protect her on this path."
A dramatic blue flame burst from the pillar, a portal of another land. Araceli held the baby tightly in her hands cursing the gods for the cruel fate of this child, she looked down at the young princess's innocent face as she began to cry. "Shhhh" she cooed rocking her back and forth, she then lent down and whispered to the young princess "You're our last hope now, our savior, I have faith that someday you will find us my Princess Nesta … remember… NO" Araceli gasped, without warning a jolt of black magic pierced through the warrior's heart. She threw the young princess and the fate of her entire world into the portal, disappearing before the warrior dropped to the ground motionless her sword in hand. The sound of the caves echoed with the hideous shrieks of the three ancestral sisters.
