Had some idea where this was heading, but I'm glad it ended the way I wanted it to end.
Standing outside in her evening gown on her bedroom balcony, a cool breeze brushed softly against golden blonde hair as the princess' gaze fixated on the star-covered night sky. The weight of her day to day routine of appointments and businesses tied to her title as well as the needs of her people pressed heavily on her shoulders. The expression showed upon the princess who was physically, mentally, as well as emotionally drained; exhausted. Looking down at the view of the castle town below, she longed for her hero to show, to help ease her mind from everything that has prevented her to think. Light illuminated from a few of the dwellings; indicating to her that people were either still or are awake. Just then a shadowy movement caught her eye along the trail leading up towards the castle as it avoided being seen by the guards outside; nearing the gargantuan structure. Knowing who it was her heart was sent a fluttering with clasped hands against her petite chest.
Drawing her attention back towards the night sky, she hoped that time would pass quickly; waiting for him to quickly make his way to her so they can enjoy the quiet scenery together. Her attention was suddenly drawn away as a release was heard, followed by a chain extending before a hook embedded itself into vines growing from the castle wall to her left. Immediately after, the object began to retract as it pulled up its owner on the other end; the hero the princess longed to see climbed up the vines as she watched on at ease. Upon planting his boot-covered feet on the majestic floor of the royal bedchamber, he faced the tranquil eyes of the princess staring back at him before stepping forward; closing the gap between them. Nearly face to face, her white-gloved left hand slowly reached up to touch his face as she let her fingers silently, but slowly trace his complexion; from the top of his forehead, to the middle of his unmoving cheek bone, to his pressed jaw line and chin.
Reaching for his right gauntleted hand, she gently placed it against her left cheek; her longing for his touch was almost too much for her to even bear. Shortly after, the material was slowly pulled off before being reapplied to her cheek. Feeling the cool touch of her soft cheekbone he worked his hand slowly over her snow white complexion. Closing her eyes, she truly wished for the feeling to last forever; as the gentle breeze once again brushed against their bodies. Shivering from the sensation of his touch, the princess wrapped her arms around his board figure as her hero enclosed the embrace. She leaned her head against his chest; the heartbeat within slowly calming her as she listened to its rhythm. "Please tell me that everything will be ok." The princess breathed as she closed her eyes.
