A.N.: ONE SHOT: A morbid poem that I wrote while I was in Creative Writing. It's just a random poem that shows a dark side towhat Kenshin thinks of himself.
A Rurouni's Cry
Blood stains my hands,
Never washes off.
The faces of those I killed,
Murdered in cold blood,
Haunts my dreams.
I see their families and their tear-stained faces,
Accusing me,
Crying for their lost relatives.
I orphaned children,
Widowed wives,
And so I must atone for my sins.
I wander the earth,
Helping those in need,
Protecting with my sword,
Not killing.
But no matter how many people I save,
They will never count up to those I killed.
"Demon!" they called me.
Perhaps they were right.
Perhaps that is all I am and all I will ever be.
