Hello. Hm... there isn't much POTC stuff yet, as it's a prologue. But, it's got exposition and it's short, so... why not, eh?

Prologue

Unknown were those who still thought of him as Captain Wiley. To treasure hunters and common folk, he was known as Jigsaw, perhaps Julius Jigsaw if you were so inclined. It was a name he never bore in life, although before his final breath he had fashioned all the pieces to his infamous puzzle: Jigsaw's Jumble, it was commonly called; Jigsaw's Joke being an alternative used by most who had sought the pirate's legendary treasure.

That it existed was seldom questioned. Julius Wiley was as historical as his royal Roman namesake and, unlike most pirate biographies, his had survived a century with no embellishment to argue against. From complete obscurity, he popped up in the Spanish Main at the age of thirty, in command of a Sloop and twenty men. More crafty than violent in nature, Wiley had accumulated most of his wealth in the swift and nearly bloodless raids of small Caribbean towns and summer villas of various officials. Throughout most of his life, he was never ridiculously rich, but renown for his cleverness and agility, which was equally admirable amongst pirates, if not more so. Of course, he had no complaints when he came upon what is believed to have been a mass of Incan gold: treasure which would later become the prize of Jigsaw's Jumble.

Roundabout the age of forty, Wiley's health began to deteriorate and it was not very long before he realized he was heading for death. With no heir of his own to pass on his riches, Wiley paid his crew handsomely for their service, and hid everything else. Rather than writing a single map, Jigsaw wrote a series, with each leading to the location of the next. In a hundred years, no person, pirate or otherwise, has been able to make it to the second level of the game. In fact, the first map no longer exists in a completed state. Torn in two, either by Jigsaw himself or a frustrated treasure hunter, one half has seemingly been lost forever.

The other belongs to a pirate lord by the name of Sparrow.
