Edward put his arm around my waist as we walked into the cafeteria. Alice was walking on his other side blabbering at top speed. I wasn't entirely paying attention. I was still a little peeved about the Prom thing. I didn't make a big a deal about it and he was already forgiven for taking me, but still…
We got to our usual table and sat down. Angela and Jessica came over followed by Mike and Ben. Mike was eyeing Edward's arm still around me. I rolled my eyes and Edward smiled to himself. I shot him a sideways glance and he composed himself.
"…so I thought since we were going hiking this weekend you would… Bella are you even listening to me?" Alice waved her hand in my face.
I flushed and smiled sheepishly. "Sorry. You just get so long winded sometimes," then I added so only her and Edward could hear, "especially considering you don't have to breath."
"That's not the point Bel--" she cut off. Her eyes became distant, she went very still, and her mouth was hanging open slightly.

"That's not the point Bel--" I stopped talking. I looked up into back roads heading out of Forks.
The road was rushing by. There was soft smooth purring in the background. I gripped the wheel of the car tighter and pushed the accelerator closer to the floor of the car. The needle kept climbing up the speed-o-meter.
I pulled the car to a stop at the edge of the forest where the road ended. I got out and looked over the shiny yellow paint. I traced my finger over it to the back of the car. Shiny silver lettering caught my eye. Turbo!
Then I was sitting in the cafeteria again. Edward was smiling at me.
"WHAT?!" Bella's whisper was low and frantic. "What did you see?"
I smiled.
"Now that's a car." Edward whispered so even Bella--practically curled up in his lap--couldn't hear.
My eyes widened and my smile grew, I wonder when we get that one! We were both smiling excitedly.
Poor Bella was practically vibrating with frustration. Her breathing was becoming uneven in her anxiety. Her fists were clenched and her face was red. Her heartbeat was accelerating, her was blood pulsing faster, almost singing in her veins.
"Relax." Edward and I both said, our smiles wiped away by the sudden appearance of her hostility. If I hadn't known better I would have thought… but that wasn't possible, so it didn't matter. She smelled fine to me. Edward liked her scent enough…
"It was just a car… a really fast, really shiny car." I said trying to compose myself.
I want that car! I know that car! Porsche 911 Turbo, that car is mine! I thought meeting Edward's eyes.
"We'll see." He whispered so only I could hear.
Meanwhile in Italy…
"I want the best insurance I can get. I want the best security set for the car and on the car. I don't want anyone to be able to move it so much as an inch unless I give them keys!" a woman with her hair pulled back into a ponytail circled a bright yellow car.
"Of course, Miss. We can assure you that the alarm system and the lock system on this Porsche 911 Turbo are the finest in the world. They are absolutely fool proof." The salesman smiled knowing that a few of his friends could rip the door off the car like it was paper and be gone before the alarm could sound……
