It's hard isn't it?
To live life, getting everything, or close to everything you want.
To keep what you cherish. To receive what you think you deserve.
Even if you don't deserve it.

Amy and Sonic sat on Sonic's couch- lazing off as always, losing themselves in the newest races- this specifically the Brickyard 400- and dozing off to sleep. Sonic, though, was wide awake, staring intently at the rivals on-screen, wishing to own them all in just one satisfying race. They were all slow. Simply put.
Amy lifted her head and looked at Sonic. "Hey Sonic, do you wanna do something? Like go to the park?"
Sonic stared. "Nope. I'm cool."
Amy kept looking at the cobalt hedgehog, getting steadily more frustrated. "Why don't you get up and do something with me? All you do is sit here, or run around the planet like a crazed uncontrollable Lance Armstrong, leaving me behind!"
"And?"
Amy sat up "Don't you think it's getting kind of annoying?"
Sonic shrugged. "I buy you new clothes all the time. Isn't that enough? What do you want from me?"
Amy stood up, at the brink of exploding. "I want you to love me like you did way back when!"
Sonic looked at her. "I love you! So much! 24 hours a day, 8 days a week!"
Amy huffed. "Well you sure don't show it, clusterbrain!"
Sonic stared. "You're just mad because you put on the wrong makeup."
"You want wrong makeup I can swing my hammer a few times. Your snout would match your odd-colored body."
Sonic put his arm on the couch and sat up intently. "Odd-colored? You're pink!"
"Pink, my dear loghead, is more relevant to skin color than blue."
"Blue is the color of bruises! That's on the skin!"
Amy stomped. "You are the exact replica of a can of diet soda! You were normal at first but when the world opened you, your caffeine just evaporated into the biosphere."
Sonic cocked his head. "What's that supposed to mean."
Amy's head grew to the size of Bush's ego. "IT MEANS THAT YOU ARE STUPID IN THE FUCKING HEAD!"
Sonic stood up, like he wad ready to fight. "Hey! I don't see you saving any planet! You just bitch at me all the time!"
Amy was close to drawing her hammer. "You are a lugnut!"
"Mall rat!"
"Ego brain!"
"Shopping cart!"
"Weenie eater!"
"Bubble wrap!"
Amy shook her head. "What in the fuck are you talking about?"
"Whenever you get all cutesy, the background gets pink and bubbles fly everywhere."
Amy sweatdropped. Sometimes his stupidity just is too cute to back off of. She walked up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder. A tear started to form in her eye.
"I'm sorry, Sonic. It's just… I love you so much, but you never wanna spend time with me… it gets lonely just sitting here, thinking about you, but not being able to be with you."
She felt Sonic return the embrace. "Sometimes when I'm on the run, I feel the same way…"
Amy wiped a tear and looked up. "Really?"
Sonic smiled with a burning warmth. "Yeah." They stood staring for a while longer before Sonic walked towards the door. "Let's go walk around. See the sights."
Amy walked up to him happily. "You mean it? You really will?"
Sonic nodded and winked. "Sure."
She stared at him for a minute then hugged him, them both putting on shoes afterwards. "Thanks, Sonic."
Sonic smiled. "Just doing what I'm told."
Amy stood up. "What? Doing what you're told?" Sonic sweat dropped and inched towards the door. "So you think I'm forcing you to go?" She drew her Piko-Piko. "Well I'll force you to bend over and kiss my oversized anthropomorphic feet!"
Sonic ran out the door, a playfully enraged Amy chasing him all the way, hammer in hand.

Yes… It's hard. But it's also easy to keep.
You just gotta have the right state of mind- play your cards right.
