This is what I think is a scene missing from the manga – what did happen to those flowers?
Paper roses
"Um, these were given to me by, uh someone." Naruto fumbled with his words and holding up the "flowers" in front of him. "They're not really my thing so I, well…I wondered if you would like them?
Hinata was scarlet at this time and could barely find her voice. For me? He's giving flowers to me? Sure they weren't real, but they were beautiful and he was giving them to her.
"I, ah, I realise they're fake but they represent friendship between us and Amegakure so they are kind of important in uh some ways". Whys she not saying anything? This was barrelling around Naruto's head as he gradually lost his nerve.
"well, uh, I better go…" he could kick himself for being stupid. Surely he could come up with something better? He could hear the fox demons mocking laughter at his lack of poise.
Hinata merely stood staring at the flowers gently stroking them oblivious to those around her.
