Alice hovered in the doorway, her eyes glittering as she watched Jasper. Emmett had already shoved his way through, and was now peering over his shoulder, his booming laugh echoing throughout the room.
"Brilliant, Jasper! Absolutely brilliant!" He laughed, patting Jasper's back harder than he intended, sending him stumbling forward into Edward's desk.
"I thought so myself. What better way to welcome Bella into the family than a little vampiric fun?" Jasper said in his quiet voice. Alice snorted.
"Edward won't be pleased." She said, though she was trying to hide a smile. You didn't have to be Jasper to feel her amusement in the air.
"Edward-schmedward," Emmett boomed. "This will be fun!"
Laughing, Jasper tucked his homemade grocery list into the pile of Bella's notes on the desk. "Just wait until she flips through these for their meeting with Carlisle."
"Yeah. Good thing she's slow, and needs vampire lessons," Emmett turned back towards Alice. "Are they home yet?"
"Just arriving. Better start thinking of something else, Emmett."
"Don't worry, Short Stuff. I've got something all worked out."
The three of them quickly hurried from Edward's bedroom, taking shelter in the room across the hall.
"Edward, what is this?" Bella slowly lifted the tiny piece of blue paper, her eyes going wide.
Edward peered over her shoulder, the growl deepening in his throat as he whirled for the door, disappearing in seconds.
"Not funny, Jasper!" Edward roared.
"Well worth it!" Emmett laughed.
"You're not the one getting your ass kicked!" Came Jasper's voice.
"The three of you are morons." Alice snapped.
Bella was left alone, holding the tiny grocery list as the sounds of a scuffle erupted from the next room.

Inspired by an icon I found that has that grocery list on it, only Bella is scratched out and it says "Not funny, Jasper!" in Edward's hand writing.
