AN: Hiya! Wow, it's been forever and a day since I last posted anything! Well, here's a short drabble that I wrote for ardensmemoria on tumblr, between her Carol and my Garie, Post GX and if Garie was revived through the Chateau

Kenopsia - The eerie, forlorn atmosphere of a place that is usually bustling with people but is now abandoned and quiet

The Chateau hadn't always been like this. Quiet, dark and devoid of all traces of life. Once it had been filled with Noise of all shapes and sizes, of living dolls who could dance like magic, and with a girl who was the Queen and Goddess of all she surveyed.

Yet, the Queen had a quest for vengeance over those who had wronged her, and she had sought to make them suffer for the pain she had gone through. What she had suffered, what she had felt, she would inflict tenfold on those she deemed to be worthy of this punishment.

And as her quest furthered, the Chateau grew quieter and quieter. The place had that once been the center of the world to those who lived there, now stood as a monument to the past. What had once been everything, now was nothing. More and more gave up their lives in pursuit of the justice their Queen wanted.

Needed.

Of all who had lived there, one now remained.

She alone now walked the Chateau, her footsteps that echoed down the empty hallways were a grim parody of what had once been hustle and bustle. The click clack of her heels mirrored the sounds of a clock, making the passage of time grow and grow with every step she took.

Her voice, when she dared to speak, only made the walls come in closer, the colors fade more, and her loneliness more realized.

She was alone in this world that she had once shared with many.

Her servants were gone.

No longer were they there to order as she pleased. No longer were they there to take the brunt of her anger when she failed a job. No longer were they there for her to laugh at, and take humor from.

Her sisters were gone.

No longer could she joke and play with those she had been created with. No longer could she debate and run plans by those who had stood by her through thick and thin. No longer could she dance and sing with those also born of mystery and magic.

Her Queen was gone.

No longer could she serve the girl who gave her everything. No longer could she grant the wishes of the one person she held close to her, closer than even herself. No longer could she gaze on the one who deserved everything, and yet had nothing.

And as she knelt one more time before the empty throne of her liege, her Queen, her Mother, she truly felt alone.

As she gazed upon the dust covered halls that now stretched before her, as cold and barren as her own artificial heart, she truly felt alone.

When she wandered through the Chateau in which she and her sisters had been given life, where they learnt and fought, she truly felt alone.

When she realized what she had lost, she truly felt alone.

She fell to the floor, and though no tears formed, she wept for all she had lost, for she now lived in a world all on her own,

"Carol... Why..."
