AN. This is a very, very short one shot. I hope you guys like it, sorry for the English, I'm not a native speaker.

I do not own Charmed, nor do I make money with this.

It was dark in the streets of San Francisco, and most people were asleep. Normally all the people living inside Halliwell manor would also be asleep, but not this night, not Wyatt. Wyatt was sitting next to his little brother's bed. Wyatt's sleep was often plagued by nightmares, dreams about an evil world, where he was the source of evil. Though those nightmares were horrible they were just that, nightmares. But not this time, no, this night Wyatt had found out that they were no nightmares. They were memories, his memories of an alternative universe, a world that stopped existing because his little brother went back in time to save him.

Chris, his little brother. The boy he had sworn to keep save and to take care of the moment he first saw him. He had tortured him, killed his friends, his family even his fiancé, he had hunted him down and made him feel miserable. And still Chris went back in time to save him, and at what cost? Chris had died in the future. His little brother had died trying to save him, even after everything.

When Wyatt had woken up after that terrible revelation he had run to his brother's room, he just had to make sure he was still alive. Looking down at him, Chris looked so peaceful in his sleep, and Wyatt wondered, did Chris remember? Did Chris know how evil Wyatt had once been, did Chris know all the hurt he had put him through?

With everything Wyatt had he hoped and begged that Chris did not. He didn't want Chris to know such horrible things, and if he was honest with himself, he wouldn't know what to do if Chris did know. Because surely Chris would hate him then, be afraid of him. Wyatt's eyes went open wide at that thought, his little brother cowering in the corner of his room, begging Wyatt to leave him alone, trembling with fear.

Wyatt ran to the bathroom and splashed his face with water, trying to get rid of the horrible thoughts. He never wanted Chris to be afraid of him. And that night Wyatt made a new promise. He would keep Chris save, he would take care of him, but most of all he would do everything in his power to make sure he would never be evil, to make sure his little brother would never be afraid of him.

With that promise Wyatt made his way back to his own room, and to his own bed. It was time to get some sleep, tomorrow was Chris's fourteenth birthday, and it was going to be a long and happy day, Wyatt would make sure of that.
