Rukia opened her eyes in amazement.

She pressed the metal circle on her chest.

DUM DUM. DUM DUM.

Releasing the pressure, Rukia listened yet again.

Dum dum. Dum dum. Dum—

"Rukia!"

"Renji!"

"Ruk—"

"Renji, Renji, Renji!! You have to see this!! It's incredible!!" Rukia exclaimed, shoving the device into the red head's hands.

"Eh?" he said blankly, staring at the strange contraption.

"Look, look!" Rukia stuck two rubber ends into his hear.

"OW! That hur—"

"Can you hear it?" she asked, pushing something cold and hard onto his chest.

"Hear wha—"

DUM DUM. DUM DUM. DUM DUM.

"Huh? What's that?" he questioned, listening carefully.

"It's the music of your soul!"

"What? Music of my soul??"

Rukia nodded. "This amazing contraption enables you to listen to the music of your soul! Ichigo's world is great, ne?"

"Hmmm…." Renji listened some more.

"Can I listened to yours? Pretty please???"

"Sure," he said, handing her the device.

DUM DUM. DUM DUM. DUM DUM.

"Hey!"

"What?"

"Your music is the same as mine, only louder!"

"Maybe it's because we're both shinigami?" he offered.

"You're right, Renji! We should try it on Ichigo! C'mon," she said, grabbing his wrist and pulling him out the door.

"Rukia! Chotto mate!"

"Ichigo!"

The tall orange-haired boy turned to see a disheveled Renji being dragged by a determined looking Rukia. "Eh, Rukia?"

"Ichigo!" The short girl marched up to him and fiercely hit him in the chest with a piece of metal.

"Rukia, what the hell are you doing?!"

"Shhh! I'm listening to the music of your soul," she said softly.

"The music of my soul?" Ichigo repeated, his eye twitching in annoyance.

"Yeah, Ichigo. Rukia's listening to the music your soul to see what a non-shinigami's soul music sounds like," explained Renji.

"Er….you guys…"

"Hmmm?"

"… that's a stethoscope."
