Chapter 1: School Assignment
The morning started off quiet.
Mai strolled into the room of practically dead students. She overheard a disappointing conversation.
"I heard Ms. Sakine raged into the teacher's lounge," Luka informed.
"You know what that means..." Miku sighed.
The two students sunk into their seats. "New project."
"Great," mumbled Mai as she made way for her seat.
"Ahhhh!" A voice shrieked.
She barely turned around before being slammed into desks.
"Help!" The voice yelped.
"Oh, no you don't!" Mai opened her eyes to see a furious girl chasing an extremely terrified boy.
"Rin, I'm sorry!" The boy cried as he was backed into a corner.
The girl began to laugh in a menacing manner. Her short stardust tresses shading her face. "You're sorry? Haha. That's a good one." She looked up with a frown and glistening tears. "Do you think 'sorry' is going to fix my outfit?!"
Len examined her outfit. He noted that there were bleach splotches everywhere.
Rin fell to the floor. "I'm going to be the laughingstock of the school!"
"How did that happen?" The blonde asked with concern.
Rin sniffled then shot a death glare at him. "You! You and your stupid whites happened!"
He stared up in thought, and the memory hit him...so did Rin.
The blonde girl throttled her brother, before deciding upon a worse punishment. Her head poked out into the hallway, spotting a group of girls searching for a certain someone. With a whistle, Rin ratted Len out. "He's in here, girls!"
"Len~!"
Said boy shot up. Desperately, the boy rummaged through the room for a hiding spot to no avail.
"Len~!" The fangirls were just about to tackle him when the bell rang.
"Who dares disrupt my classroom?!"
The everyone died a little from mini heart-attacks.
"Sorry, Ms. Sakine! We'll be on our way!" The fangirls cleared out immediately.
Len wiped the sweat off his head. "Saved by the monstrous Ms. Sakine." A shiver went up the blonde's spine. His gaze traveled upward to a menacing teacher grinning upon him.
"What was that, Mr. Kagamine?" Her coco irises shining with mischief.
"Nuh-Nothing, Ms. Sakine!" With one motion he sped into his seat. "Ow~!"
Ms. Sakine dismissed his injury. "And you, Ms. Meiwane... Why are you out of your seat?" Her teacher interrogated with a sickly sweet smile.
"Why aren't you teaching?" Mai quipped as she climbed into her chair.
Ms. Sakine fumed on the inside but contained it, knowing she'd go to jail if she killed Mai. Slowly, she walked up to the front of the classroom. The heels of her boots the only sound resonating through the room.

Mai read the note and glared at them. I don't even know you guys.
Ding! Dong! Fwomp!
Ms. Sakine punched her desk in half. "Today is terrible!" She screeched. "Do you know why?!"
"Because men are swine!" Answered the class simultaneously, punching their desks as well. None were able to break their desk, though.
"Exactly!" She sighed. "Class, I'm warning you! Get to know someone before you trust them!"
"Okay!" The students' grins were painfully wide. No project!
"Good to know you all agree..." Wait. What?
"NEW PROJECT!" The class groaned. "Hey, now. It's either that or..." Ms. Sakine plopped down a pile of papers. "Testing month! Why waste our time on a project when we have testing month?" She inhaled deeply. "Ah, yes, Testing month. I can smell the F's already."
"NOOOOOOO!"
"What? No, Testing month?" Ms. Sakine pouted.
"Yes- Wait, no! Yes? No?" They all fell over with brain cramps, save for Mai.
Aforementioned girl stood with defiance. "Ms. Sakine! We will proudly take on your project! Your life lessons are the best things that have ever entered our minds! Almost surpassing Childhood Memories!"
"Exactly!" The still frazzled class agreed.
"Oh goody!" Ms. Sakine pranced to her computer. "Even though I love tests more..."
Everyone paled.
"Projects are the next best thing." She chirped.
All exhaled a breath they didn't know they were holding.
"Alright then!" She grabbed a paper out of the printer. "This is a partner assignment. Your objective is to learn as much information on your coworker. The minimum of facts you have to obtain are twenty. The following do NOT count as legit facts about your partner: what they had for lunch, how scared they are of me (You can throw that in for kicks, though), ALSO..."
Two minutes of /Do's and Don'ts/ passed by.
"Alright! Nows the times for partners!" Ms. Sakine announced.
"Lenka and Rinto!" The two brofisted.
"Rin and Mai!" Mai glanced over to her radiant partner. Ugh, enthusiasm... Ms. Sakine continued with the rest of the class partners. Each pair was screamed out, and Mai wondered how her teacher hadn't lost her voice yet. "Len!"
Jolted wake by the shout, the boy saluted. "Yes, Ma'm!"
"You partner as punishment for sleeping in this most important hour will be...me."
The class thought all at once, /She didn't shout!/ Then they whipped their heads' in Len's direction. Things just got real.
Rin patted her cousins' back. "No mercy will be given. I hope you know that."
"I know," Len groaned, slamming his head on his desk. "Ow..."
^('O') -Lunch Time- ('O')^
Ms. Sakine melted into the Teacher's Lounge couch. Coffee in one hand and an cheeseburger in the other, she hummed happily to herself.
"Gave another project to your students, did you, Meiko?"
Ms. Sakine stopped her humming. "Of course, Gakupo! What? Did you think I'd actually teach them something?! Hahaha!" The woman began to laugh hysterically.
Mr. Kamui sighed. "Charming."
"Meikupo~!" Two fangirls squealed outside the lounge.
"What are you doing?" Mai frowned at them.
"Nothing!" They denied, running away.
Mai dismissed the encounter. "One day of peace. Is that so hard to ask for?" She stared up at the sky.
"Ompf!"
"Ouch!" Mai was pushed back on her behind by a rather weary Len. "Watch where you're going." She spat.
"Sorry." He sweatdropped, extending a hand out to her.
She ignored it fixing her ponytail. Noticing his hand still extended, Mai glared at him with cold gold irises. "What are you still doing here?"
He winced from her attitude. "Sorry."
The ravenette stood up and dusted herself off. "Just watch it next time." She proceeded down her path until Len shouted,
"Wait!"
Mai snapped. "Look! I don't need your apologies or help! I'm fine! Now go away!"
Len frowned and handed Mai's wallet to her. "You dropped this."
Mai swiped it from him, and continued on her way. She reached a shaded tree. Setting down her supplies, she buried her face in her knees. "Don't say sorry. No more apologies. Just don't hurt me in the first place..."

Mai packed up her things. She felt guilty. She wanted to say sorry, but she didn't know how.
"Mai!" Rin called. "C'mon! Let's go to my house!"
Mai shook her head. "Tomorrow."
Rin pouted. "Why?"
Mai didn't answer. As she was walking out the door, Rin popped out of nowhere.
"Nope! Today!" She chirped, dragging her to her humble abode.
I guess, it is.
