"What's wrong with you?"
The maids would always say..
"Act your age!"
The young Fabre fell on his knees feeling liquid prickle at the bottom of his eyes and a booming pressure building up in his small chest. The tip of his bottom lip quivered harshly under his front teeth as he bit down on it to keep a low whine from coming out.
He was a big boy now.
"Grow up child!"
And big boys didn't cry.
Luke wrapped his arms around his torso hoping that it might make him stop shaking. He bit down harder, salty tears quickly streaming from his tightly closed eyes- before his teeth broke the sensitive skin, adding more tears to his reddening cheeks. The pain only grew as his teeth sank deeper into the red flesh.
He hurt so bad. His stomach felt hot and empty and his head was full of tears and memories he didn't have.
"How come you don't remember that promise Luke, how could you forget something like that?"
The read-head felt blood slowly crawl down his chin. The pounding in his head became unbearable causing him to bite down harder in a desperate attempt to stop it. Copper filled his mouth forcing him to finally open it. Blood poured out of the deep marks dripping off onto his white shirt. Luke took a deep breath, swallowing a mouth full of blood and shakily exhaled. The openings in his lip burned and he cried.
He didn't care if big boys didn't cry. He hurt all over. He would be a little boy, he would cry.
He in haled deeply before quiet sobs filled his room. Light peered from the windows but he couldn't see it, he couldn't feel it. His room felt dark.
The boy squeezed his stomach again at the thought of another maid scolding him for crying over nothing. Luke didn't know why he cried half the time. The child just knew he felt bad and empty. Very, very empty.
His body shook and blood poured as lonely sobs grew in volume. The pounding in his head was becoming unbearable. He couldn't take it! Acting his age was so hard!
He couldn't do it…
Fourteen was such a big number.

I wrote this one few years ago and never put it up. I actually like it so here you go BD
