Will I ever be seen again? Probably not. Then again, that is what happens when a "scandal" involving you occurs. AI mean, how was I supposed to know what was going to be there? I thought I left him on that stupid island after that dreaded show~ Heck, being on that show was bad enough, and now the whole world knows, or so they think, that I love him. Me? Love him?! Ha! He's like a gnat in my ear.
"Hey Princess," a deep voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Shut up," I growled at him.
That show called Total Drama Island took place on the island Wawanakwa. The site of an old, decrepit summer camp remained. Of course, we knew that. What we didn't know was the reason why it was abandoned –and so cheap, hence the reason why the producers bought it in the first place. Of course, the found that out when they read the documents five months after the last episode filmed there…
"Hey Courtney," my friend, Tina, greeted me.
"What's up Tina? How are you?" I asked.
"I'm good, thanks," she answered.
We were walking from the parking lot to the school. People, especially the guys, still stare at me. Some even have the nerve to come up to me and address me as "princess." Didn't they know they couldn't call me that? It's forbidden. But not for the reason you think –not because it was his pet name for me. The word did not hold special meaning in that sense. No, it just reminded me of the darkest chapter in my life thus far. I shudder just thinking about it, and not from pleasure.
Eventually, Tina and I made it to our first period class, advanced English literature. We sat down in our usual table and started to talk. My back was always turned to the door so I could talk to Tina better. Therefore, I had no clue why she suddenly went mute. I curiously gazed at her for a moment.
"Hey Tina… Earth to Teen?" I tentatively asked, waving my hand in front of her face.
"L-l-lo-loo-" Tina stuttered, finger pointing to the door.
"Look? Look wher-" I began to ask.
That is, until a deep, familiar, seductive (No! Not seductive. Get a grip on yourself, girl!) voice behind me smugly called out, "Hey Princess, long time no see."
I swiveled around to look at him. Nothing changed over the past five months, I observed. That stupid green-faux mohawk still stood above his jet black hair. His piercing glistened in the light. And those icy eyes. They could still see through all my defenses to the real me… But, that should have changed. I'm not the same girl as before. I am definitely different. He shouldn't make me feel defenseless like that! Anger bubbled up within me.
"What are you doing here, Duncan? Shouldn't you be in juvie or something?" I coldly asked.
"Now, is that any way to talk to your-" He began to say, walking towards me.
"My nothing! You still haven't answered my question," I snapped. He stopped in his tracks. "Or are Neanderthals so stupid that they can't answer simple questions?"
"Well, about that Princess," he began. Promptly Bridgette, Izzy, Sadie, Katie, Noah, and Chris came through my classroom door. Is this some sort of nightmare?!
"About that," Chris' game-show host voice rang out, "There's a little problem with Wawanakwa previously unknown."
I gave him a blank stare, eyes narrowed as Justin, Tyler, LeShawna, Heather, Gwen, Owen, Trent, and Geoff sauntered in the door.
"What is happening here?" I directed my question to Chris.
"Well…"
