Rumplestiltskin was immediately on alert when he opened his front door and smelled smoke.

"Belle?" He hurried as fast as he could follow his nose to the source, which seemed to be his den. He burst through the door and found, to his chagrin, that the fire was in the fireplace. Belle was sitting on the floor in front of the hearth, safe enough, though leaning perilously close to the flames. "What are you doing?"

Belle turned and smiled at him. "Trying out something Ruby told me."

"That," Rumplestiltskin said, making his way over to her, "Is not very reassuring."

"Be nice, Rumple."

He chuckled at her scolding. He wasn't nearly as mean to people as he used to be, but she still had to get on to him for his remarks on many occasions. Reaching her side, he spotted the huge bag of marshmallows, the box of graham crackers, and the chocolate bars. Now he understood. "She told you about s'mores, did she?" He cautiously lowered himself to the floor next to Belle.

"She did, and they sound wonderful. Have you ever had them?"

"Alas, I never had the time for such confections. Far too busy being terrifying, you know."

Belle giggled. "Well, you'll have one with me now. Just as soon as I can get this marshmallow - oops!" she let out a squeal as the marshmallow in question caught fire.

"Blow it out, dearie, it's only a marshmallow," Rumplestiltskin laughed.

She shot him a glare and brought back her toasting fork enough to blow the flames out. Frowning slightly, she observed, "It's all burnt now."

"Well," Rumplestiltskin replied, gathering the crackers and chocolate, "I've heard they taste the best that way. Now, I place the candy on the cracker, and you stick the marshmallow here, and I pull it off like this." With a grin, he took the first bite of the successfully put together s'more. Shaking his head slightly, he held it out to her and said, "A bit too sweet for me, but I think you'll love it."

Belle took it, looking as excited as she always did about new things. The bite she took was huge (Rumple thought she must've gotten half the s'more into her mouth), and judging by her smile, it was delicious.

"I love it!" she enthused once she'd finished chewing. "Let's make more!"

Smiling broadly at her, Rumplestilstkin handed her another marshmallow and planted a quick kiss on her cheek. "As many as you'd like, love."
