Author's Note: This one-shot is my take on what happened to Remus and Tonks, during the battle. As i decide that JK Rowling did a poor job concerning this too. This story shows that what happened to them was important and without them Neville would have died.
The missing page
Streams of bright coloured lights filled the castle, each fired from a different wand causing a beautiful rainbow effect around them, but all were too busy to care. Remus Lupin wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his free hand as he sent a hex at one death eater who fast approached. A small scream escaped from her mouth as his hex sent her flying back wards down the marble stair case. Remus eyes watched as she landed, the castle main oak doors flew open to reveal the battle taking place on the lawn.
Tonks struggled to walk as she entered the castle, limping, tears rolling down her face. A badly preformed curse had left her injured, she was tiring to find Remus. Her pink bubble gum hair was stuck to her face. At the sight of her, Remus ran, shooting spells at anyone who may hurt her.
Remus took hold of his beautiful wife and knew right now the most important thing was her safety. He had thought she was at home looking after Teddy and was shocked to see her here. He knew in his heart that she wouldn't stay at home and watch him die. Helping her up the stair case, hes eyes landed on her face.
Even in the mist of the battle she looked beautiful and he couldn't help but smile slightly. "We are getting you out of here" he said. Just at that point a spell closely missed them. Remus fired spell after spell at the death eaters clearing a path. He knew his only chance was to get his her to the room of requirements, so she could be looked after.
As they stepped on to the corridor outside the headquarters of the DA. Tonk turned to look at Remus and spoke for the first time "I love you" As Remus went to reply Neville Longbottom back onto the corridor, several death sent curses at him. Remus let go of Tonks without a second thought "Get out of here" He shouted over the curse as he fired back at the death eaters.
Tonks wouldn't move, she rested against the wall sending spell after spell at the death eaters. Neville managed to draw level with them and stood his ground. Remus pushed him behind them as he stood next to his wife. Curse flew all around them as slowly the death eaters began to fall.
Three death eaters were all that were left bearing down on them. Tonks sent any array of light at the young female on the left and Remus the male on the right. As both fell to the floor the last death eater reacted at speed by summoning all three wands and sent Avada Kedavra at Neville and the Lupins. Remus pushed Neville to the floor but both himself and his wife were hit. Killed by the death eater stood in front of them.
As tears came to Neville's eyes he sent a powerful curse at the death eater knocking him through the window cursing him to fall to the floor outside without the wands. A cry of pain was heard as he died. Neville pulled Remus into his arms and sobbed, it was then Voldermort spoke. You have one hour
