All her life, Sarah Walker was told to be better.
"Sarah, study more!"
"Sarah kick harder!"
"Sarah be more lady-like!"
"Sarah don't be violent"
"Sarah eat faster!" and then,
"Sarah eat slower!" Sarah was tired of everyone criticizing her. Sarah got straight A's and all the academic awards possible, holding the highest GPA in the whole high school at 14 years old. Sarah won prom queen with only one person not voting for her. Sarah was a black belt by the age of 10. Sarah was pretty much perfect. She knew that she could never say she was perfect to anyone's face, but let's face it; Sarah Walker was really just perfect. Sarah loved her life, she was popular, beautiful, and had enough money to sustain her small family. Sarah stared at herself in the mirror. Pulling her long brown hair over her shoulder. There was one thing she worried about everyday.
"What do I want to do with my life?" She asked herself. Sarah knew life was great in the moment, but she could tell they wouldn't stay in L.A. much longer… her dad was acting funny like he always did about a month before they had to move. Sarah was positive getting into an ivy league college wouldn't be too hard for her academic records, but what about after that? Sure, she was tough and inquisitive, but while searching for a job, what would that do for her? She dabbled here and there in skill and talent, but there was nothing in her life written in stone. She couldn't be sure that she could come back to L.A. every month… or even be sure that she would have the name tomorrow. She looked into the mirror and sighed, yearning for a meaning to her life.
