Set after Thunder Storm part II
"So…that was it," Shane said, looking at the quarry below them. "That was really our final fight as Rangers."
"Yeah," Dustin, standing beside him, his eyes screwed up against the wind, sadly agreed. "No more Power."
"It's like Conner said," Tori reminded them. "It's their turn to fight now."
"They've got a hard slog in front of them," Cam observed. "Mesagog is as evil as Lothor was."
"If not more," Hunter added.
"Our time as Rangers have passed," Blake said. He took Tori's hand, and was comforted when she squeezed his in return. "It's time to move on."
"Yeah. We have to rebuild the ninja academy." Cam turned his back on the quarry and began walking back.
The others followed him. "Man," Dustin groaned. "Did we actually do that much damage?"
"More," Cam said wryly. "It'll take us months to rebuild."
"At least you can put some of your plans into motion," Shane pointed out.
"Yeah," Tori agreed. "You're always saying the facilities for your samurai students are sadly lacking. Now you can beef them up!"
"Yeah, yeah." Hunter said with a grin. "You can try to make it look good as much as you want, but I bet he's still going to make you do much of the grunt work."
"Hey, it wasn't totally our faults!" Dustin protested. "We were under an evil spell!"
Blake laughed. "Now, why does that sound familiar?"
Tori smiled. "Are you going to go back to your tour?"
He looked at her. "I have to. But," he added, "I'm sure no one will mind if I take a few weeks off because of a family emergency."
They all smiled at they neared the road where Tori's old van was parked. Waiting for them at it were Marah, Kapri and Sensei. "Hey," Dustin greeted Marah by wrapping his arms around her waist. "Miss me?"
"Maybe," she replied with a sweetly coy smile, putting her arms around his neck.
"God, you guys make me sick," Shane joked.
"You're just jealous," Dustin informed him with a laugh.
"Are you all right?" Sensei asked Cam.
"Yeah." He took one last look behind his shoulder. "I think we will be."
"Come on guy," Kapri said, already inside the van. "I'm starving!"
Laughing, they all piled in. Tori was, of course driving, with Blake and Shane in the front seat beside her. Dustin had opted to sit in the back with Marah, Kapri, Cam, Hunter and Sensei. "Where to?" Tori asked.
"Home," Blake said. "I have a sudden craving for Cam's cooking."
"Hey!" Cam called from the back. "Who said I'm cooking?"
"Because you're the only one who can," Shane returned, making everyone laugh.
And, with the van filled with laughter, Tori gunned the engine and headed, just like Blake asked, for home.
A/N: Just a little thing that came into my head. For those who actually ready my Sprit Riders series (such as it is), I am working on my third episode but it's taking a whil because I lost my flash disk and have had to rewrite much of the material. I'm really, really sorry!
