A/N: Hi there! AB here, and welcome to my first "My Gym Partner's A Monkey" fanfic. Soooo… yeah. Oh, and just as a warning, it may contain slight SLASH, or buddy-to-buddy stuff between Adam and Jake. Fic also takes place during "Up All Night", OK? OK. Let's get started!

It was in the middle of the dead night. Across from Charles Darwin Middle School was a certain Adam Lyon's house. That place, however, wasn't dead at all.
In the middle of the floor sat young Jake Spider Monkey. He was staring at the big, bright, flickering TV screen. The constant clicking of the buttons kept going as he pressed them on the video game control. Beside him, his friends Slips and Windsor were already passed out from too much caffeine and lack of sleep.
"Oh yeah! I'm winning, baby!" the spider monkey cheered as his virtual race car crossed the finish line.
On the couch, a small boy groaned at the loud victory cheer. Adam, lying down, rolled over on his side, very annoyed. Tomorrow was his big day. His big day to spend the day with Kerry in paintball, and he needed all the sleep he could get. Jake was ruining it.
He sat up. "Jake, can you not be so loud? I am trying to sleep! I have that big day with Kerry tomorrow, remember!"
The blue-capped mammal put down the controller. "Sorry, Adam…"
Then, the question came to mind. It was a question that had been knocking at his brain ever since the human told him about the event.
"Why are you going on a 'date' with Kerry? Why not go with me?"
The boy looked at Jake, surprised. He choked, "Well… urm… uhh…" He didn't think he could tell his friend the reason why he was going with Kerry and not him.
"I am your best friend… Can't we go on a 'date' together and have fun like friends should?" Jake asked. He felt very upset. He looked at Adam, heartbroken.
Adam sighed, looking at his dear friend sadly. He hated seeing his friend like this, so sad.
"Come here."
Sighing, the monkey dragged his feet over to the boy. He was surprised though of what happened next. Quickly, the orange-haired boy pulled his monkey-like friend into an embrace. Jake's face turned hot and red... but… the hug made him… happy. .
"I'm sorry I was leaving you out for Kerry." He whispered softly, pulling him closer. "We'll go on a… date sometime. Just us two best friends."
The spider monkey looked up, a glitter of hope in his heart. "Promise?"
"I promise."
A/N: There! A little JakexAdam drabble for you all. I feel like I went out of character (OOC) though, and that it became a little angsty. Oh well. It was my first try. Anyway, read and review, but leave flames at the door. Thank you.
