Words Can Hurt

Katara was silently fuming in her sleeping bag. How could Toph be so selfish? Was it too much to ask for a little help setting up camp? The little princess was now oh so comfortable in her tent of rock and while the rest of them were lying out in the open.

Katara stared up at the sky. Well, at least she could look at the stars without a tent over her head. "The stars sure are beautiful tonight. Too bad you can't see them Toph!" she sneered to the wall of rock.

Inside her tent of earth, Toph bristled. She had thought the level of their argument would just be kept to snide remarks, but Katara had upped the intensity. Toph's blindness was not something that could be helped, and now Katara was mocking her for it.

Toph furrowed her brow and sent a wave through the earth to the mound she knew was Katara. The yelp she heard as the girl flew into the air was hardly satisfying.

Look at the sky

Tell me, what do you see?

Just close your eyes and describe it to me

The heavens are sparkling with starlight tonight.

That's what I see through your eyes.

Quest for Camelot

AN: When I first saw The Chase, I thought Katara meant that remark as a comment on Toph being shut away in her tent. And she probably did mean it that way. But after watching it a few more times, I "remembered" that Toph is blind. Katara probably would've felt terrible if she had remembered this as well. I think we all forget that Toph is blind sometimes. She doesn't act blind at all.

I wrote this drabble to get my opinion out in the open and not to be good. I know it's not up to my usual standards… I'd still like reviews though!
