Special Moments

They had just returned from their adventures. For Sora, it was more exhausting telling everyone about all of the battles and the many worlds that he had traveled. To some degree he wished he was still out there fighting the heartless and the infamous nobodies. But there was indeed no place like home. Of course, the Keyblade Master also had to catch up on the latest gossip (Kairi and Selphie made him), and he did find out some very interesting things. Still, like Riku said, nothing had really changed all that much.

He had been back for two months now, his azure gaze watching as the bride approached the altar. The two looked so happy – a couple that he had known since he was just a little kid. Both Riku and Kairi sat beside him, watching as well. Kairi seemed totally into it, whispering to Selphie, who was to her left, giggling and cooing about this special moment. However, Riku seemed quite bored of this. Sora grinned and nudged Riku slightly. The older boy looked at him and rolled his eyes. Riku had always hated sappy stuff like this, and for some reason Sora found it quite hilarious that the poor silver haired boy was always forced to come to these things by his nagging mother.

"That was so beautiful!" Kairi exclaimed happily one the wedding ceremony was over. The three were now heading to the reception together.

Sora laughed. "Really?"

Kairi stared him before shoving him playfully. "You, bum. You were sitting there. Please don't tell me that you weren't paying attention!"

"He was daydreaming about the food," Riku stated with a small chuckle, earning a glare from the younger boy.

"I was not!" Sora defended. "I promise I was paying attention, Kairi. I agree it was… beautiful." Sora glared at Riku again who had snorted.

Kairi clapped her hands excitedly. "I love weddings! They're so exciting and romantic!"

"I think Selphie's personality is rubbing off on you, Kai," Riku teased. "What is it with women and weddings?"

Kairi frowned. "Men…" she said with a small sigh before looking back at the two boys. "You two will understand someday when you're standing up at the altar. It's just one of the many special moments that will happen in someone's lifetime."

Riku smiled. "Remember those words of wisdom when you're getting married to Kairi, Sora."

"Okay, I will," Sora stated before Riku's words had fully sunk in. His eyes widened and his face turned red. "Wait. What?!" he quickly exclaimed.

Kairi blushed as well, but didn't say anything. She just stared as Sora started shouting gibberish to the laughing Riku.

"Don't deny it, Sora." Was all Riku had said before walking away from the dumbfounded couple.

Both Kairi and Sora continued their way to the wedding reception in silence. They both contemplated about Riku's words. They would never agree that Riku was right out loud. Well, not yet anyway. The two knew that getting married would be one of those many special moments they would share in their lifetime.

And they looked forward to it…

A/N: Short and sweet. Sometimes ideas come to me in the strangest places. In this case, I was making a turkey and cheese sandwich when this popped into my head. Yummy!
