They call him Strider, for they say he wanders far by foot. They do not know how far he has travelled or even how he truly came by the name of Strider. They say it is because he has wandered far among the lands of Middle Earth. They could not possibly comprehend that it was given as a loving, joking nickname. They do not believe that rangers even have those who would apply such nicknames. They shun him and his people because they fear them. From Estel(1), there is nothing to fear, unless you are an enemy. They do not know nor care to know that the rangers sacrifice so much to protect them. Sometimes, they will give their own lives. What they once were - what they once had - is now lost and they are forgotten kings protecting in secret what is now left of their ancient lands. Long has it been this way and long it might yet be. But things have been set into motion. And old Bilbo Baggins' fateful words written in poetry: "From the ashes a fire shall be woken; a light from the shadows shall spring. Renewed shall be blade that was broken, the crownless again shall be king," might yet come to pass in this generation of men. Aragorn will rise up where his ancestors fell and lead his people to glory once again. The Ring has been awoken. Things have been set into motion that cannot now be undone. All That Is Gold Does Not Glitter; Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost; The Old That Is Strong Does Not Wither; Deep Roots Are Not Reached By Frost. From The Ashes A Fire Shall Be Woken; A Light From The Shadows Shall Spring; Renewed Shall Be Blade That Was Broken, The Crownless Again Shall Be King...(2)
