Bobby turned his head as Jack walked past the living room.
"Hey Jackie! How'd it go?" he called.
Jack stopped walking, his shoulders hitched slightly before dropping further.
"I didn't make the team," he whispered.
In a flash, Bobby was hugging him. Jack bit his lip and blinked rapidly against the bitter tears of defeat.
"Want me to help the coach reconsider?" Bobby asked, a wicked grin on his face.
Jack smiled briefly. "Nah, Ma wouldn't like that."
"She doesn't need to know," Bobby said, wiggling his eyebrows suggestively.
"Just…don't let go…not yet," Jack said softly.
"Never," said Bobby.
