Chapter 1 - Cinnabar Island Shoreline, Kanto
"Go, Cherish Ball!" a girl said, and she hurled a red Poké Ball at the Pokémon. The Pokémon looked like a fish shaped like a heart. It got sucked into the Poké Ball, and was caught.
"Hey, Leaf," a boy said as he passed by, "How come you always catch Luvdisc? You must have a zillion of 'em by now."
"I have 14. One for every year." Leaf said proudly.
"Aren't you almost 15?"
"Yeah, but I'm counting February 14ths."
"Why?"
"Because it's Valentine's Day!"
"Oh. I don't celebrate it."
"And why not?"
"Well, besides from being probably the most over-decorated holiday in the year, I find the whole point of it ridiculous!"
"You need a girlfriend."
"Excuse me? And why would I need one of those?"
"So they could teach ya a few things about Valentine's Day."
"Well, sorry, not gonna happen." Fire said, smirking.
"Fine. Be that way. I guess I'll have to show you, myself, then." Leaf said, and she grabbed his arm, "Come on, we're flyin' to Cerulean Cape! Go, Pidgeot!"
Chapter 2 - Cerulean Cape, Kanto
"So tell me again: why are we here, Leaf?" Fire asked his mentor.
"Look around you. What do you see?" Leaf asked her student.
"Um, I see a bunch of people."
"Exactly. And do you know why it's so crowded today?"
"Because it's a nice day?"
"That and the fact it's Valentine's Day." Leaf said, scanning the crowd, "Ooh! Misty! If she wasn't with somebody already, she could help me. Guess I'm still going at it solo, then."
"I still don't get it…" Fire said.
"You will soon, I promise you." Leaf said, and she sent out her Pidgeot, "Come on! Let's go to Celadon City!"
Chapter 3 - Celadon City Department Store, Kanto
"Why are we here, of all places?" Fire asked.
"Because, Fire, I want to show you your so-called 'over-decorating'." Leaf replied.
"All I see is a bunch a Luvdisc and hearts."
"Eureka!" Leaf exclaimed, "I've got it! Let's check our Pokédexes…"
Leaf snatched Fire's Pokédex from his bag, and pulled out her own.
"Hey!"
"Oh, be quiet, so I can show you something." Leaf said, and she turned on the Pokédexes.
Leaf flipped through Pokémon, until she found what she was looking for.
"Ah-hah! Here we are!" Leaf said, and she showed Fire the Pokédexes.
Fire's Pokédex:
Luvdisc live in shallow seas in the tropics. This heart-shaped Pokémon earned its name by swimming after loving couples it spotted in the ocean's waves.
Leaf's Pokédex:
Luvdisc's heart-shaped body is a symbol of love and romance. It is said that any couple meeting this Pokémon is promised a loving relationship that never ends.
"So?" Fire asked, taking his Pokédex back.
Leaf just smacked her forehead and stormed off.
