Sam set down the bag of grocerys and began to cook. She squeeeled in delight when the colonel came up behind her and goosed her behind.

"I'll be back soon."

"Ok sir. Dinner should be ready by the time you get back."

Sam smiled and turned her attention back to cooking.

Janet sat down to help her peel potatoes.

"After all you two have been through together, why you still call him sir." Janet asked as she pealed potato's for their dinner.

"Oh Janet...sam heaved her chest as she sat down and helped Janet peel the potato's.

"It's just a little code we use between ourselves. That way, even when we are on duty he knows every time I call him sir, he knows that It's me telling him I love you."

Janet laughed.

"Oh, so it's like a pet name?"

"Yes, you can think of it that way."

"So when he calls you Carter?"

"Exactly," Sam grinned. So glad her friend understood.

"When did you too, you know, get together?"

"Well, we still have to keep it a secret, but I just couldn't keep it from you any longer. We've been together for almost a year now and he was so upset about losing Daniel. He understood though how important the nakwadra was to us, so Daniel's death didn't hit him as hard, you know?"

"Yeah, I can understand that." Janet sighed missing the archeologist herself unable to believe an almost entire year had passed away.

Sam sighed too.

"Jack would tell me that everything Daniel did was for nothing, all that pain and suffering. " Sam shuddered. "He said that everything Daniel did was a failure but then I reminded him that one thing Daniel succeeded was to bring us together. His death did one good thing, and since then Jack and I have become unseperable.

Janet smiled and drank from her glass of wine, then toasted with it.

"To Daniel." she said with a grin.

"To love." Sam grinned back.
