Sister day
By:XAmandaxGordonX

A/NThanks to my sisters for helping me put my first fic on.

Little Roger Davis sat bored at his desk in the back of his first grade classroom, next to his best friend Mark Cohen and right behind their other friend Tommy Collins, he just sat thinking about nothing when the teacher broke his thoughts.

"Ok class as you all know tomorrow is Mothers Day so today we're all going to make cards for our mommies to give them tomorrow." The teacher said.

Roger felt his heart sink. He didn't have a mommy, she had died when he was three of something called cancer, so he didn't have anyone to make a card for. Roger felt like he was going to cry at this point. Mark looked over at him and saw how sad he looked and asked what was the matter.

"What's wrong Rog?" Mark asked

"I don't have anyone to make a card for Mark. You know I don't have a mommy, what am I going to do?" Roger said still suppressing the erg to cry. Mark didn't know what to say but just than Tommy joined the conversation.

"What's wrong Roger?" Tommy asked and Mark answered for him.

"He doesn't have a mommy so he can't make a card for anyone for mothers day" Mark explained. Tommy thought for a moment.

"Well do you have a grandmother you could make a card for her I think that would count." Tommy said.

Roger frowned "No, I don't. Both my grandmothers are dead." Mark and Tommy frowned they didn't know what to tell their friend than Mark spoke.

"Well is their any girl who has been like a mom to you?" Roger thought for a moment than shrugged.

"The only girl I can thing of is Maureen" Maureen was Rogers big sister from his dads previous marriage and was ten when Rogers mom had died. But she loved his mommy like she was her real one. When she did die she became like Rogers mother and sister all in one, always looking out for him, making sure he did the right thing, and took care of anyone who bothered him. "But she's not a mommy or a grandmother."

"Well than change the day, for you its not mothers day any more," Tommy said "It'll be Sister Day instead." Roger smiled he like the idea of having a Sister Day for Maureen.

"Okay." Roger said and got started working on his Sister Day card for Maureen.

A few minutes later Roger looked proud at his work, on the front of the card it said in big purple letters "HAPPY SISTER DAY" and on the in side in red letters it read "To the best sister/mommy a little brother could ever have."
