Half-demon and pale, long hair black as midnight. That's Marceline.
All sugar and pink, long hair lovely as a rose. That's Bonnibel.
The Candy Kingdom falls under the protection of the pink princess.
Vampires loosely follow the flippant guidance of the gray queen
but they don't know her two darkest secrets, one called Hambo
and the other, love, for that would further lessen her rule.
The Candy Kingdom has a similar rule
which prevents its own ruler from happiness. Marceline
has ever-tempted the pink girl. She and Hambo
have always been there for Bonnibel
since long before one became queen
and the other was crowned princess.
One thing the princess
has never shared is why her own rule
prevents her from seeing the queen
as often as they'd like. Marceline
has asked the pink girl countless times, but Bonnibel
never answers. The only thing that keeps them together is Hambo.
Often when one is sad she'll pass Hambo
to the other under the cover of the night. It is as close as the princess
can get to what she truly wants. Bonnibel
would lose her potential to rule
her kingdom if her subjects knew that under cover of night, Marceline
flies to a sugary castle. The pink girl longs for the queen.
Her wishes have always been tended to by the infamously rebellious queen.
The girls whisper secrets to each other while Hambo
lies between them. Marceline
also longs for the princess.
As an unspoken rule,
the gray girl always waits until night to see Bonnibel.
Often the gray girl's thoughts drift to Bonnibel,
who often thinks of the queen.
Oh, if not for being bound by rule
the girls would be free to tell someone other than Hambo.
But it isn't meant to be. The princess
will never publicly declare her feelings for Marceline.
Not a soul, living or undead, will ever hear from Marceline
that she, the soulless queen is in love with the sweet, candy princess.
Those are secrets reserved solely for Hambo.
