The girl, because she is not really a woman, falls with a grace that she had never had in life. Bella pauses and contemplates the china doll on the ground, blood trickling in an almost beautiful way, from the familiar petal-like lips of the Black family.
She frowns slightly at the glassy open eyes, which look at her beseechingly.
'Like Andi's used to do.' She thinks, 'When she was caught reading Mudblood pamphlets or when she was caught with that Tonks boy-'
But Bella doesn't have a sister called Andromeda. She died long ago and all that remains of her is the hollow girl-child on the cold earth.
Kneeling, she smoothes away the strands of hair from the still warm face, now pale, so pale, against the halo of soft, black hair. For the first time in many years, Bellatrix feels a twinge of regret, because the girl before her looks just like her sister. She lifts the cooling body, cradling it awkwardly, and closes the girl's almost translucent eyelids over those pleading yet defiant eyes.
"There, now." She coos. "You don't have to look anymore, my darling."
Author's note: Aww, Auntie Bella being loving in her own creepy, homicidal way.
Set during the final battle, I think, though probably in a greenhouse or something. I realise that Tonks has naturally mousy hair but I felt that the way she looked in HPB was more a reflection of her feelings at the time rather than herself. Points to anyone who knows where the title comes from.
So, whether you hated it or loved, go and review. Or else a fairy dies.
