This idea came out of nowhere, I was reading about best friends and I thought I write a fic about best friends. And I chose Ethan and Lyra as my main characters. I hope you guys enjoy reading this as much as I enjoy writing this.
Disclaimer: You should know by now that I don't own Pokemon, but I wish I did.
Lyra's POV...
Whenever someone asked about her best friend, she would always give the same answer. Her answer would always be Ethan Berlitz. People would always wonder why her best friend was a guy, but Lyra just ignored them. They didn't have a say about her choice of friends, male or female, it was her own choice.
Ethan's POV...
Whenever someone asked about his best friend, his answer was always the same. His answer would always be Lyra Oak. His classmates would always make fun of him, just because his best friend was a girl. But Ethan treated their words with air, not listening to their words. They have no right to comment about his friends.
Normal POV...
Ethan and Lyra were best friends so were their younger siblings, Dawn Berlitz and Kenny Oak respectively. They did everything together. They'd studied together, they played together, they just seemed to be so together. Because they did lots of things together, they often mistaken for a couple. And it didn't help that their friends and older siblings also tired to play matchmaker for them and tried to hook them up with each other. But whatever happens they both know that they have each other's backs.
Their friendship was special, they could confide in each other when they are down, when they couldn't with their siblings. They comforted each other through their respective breakups with Kris and Khoury. They relied on each other, no matter how much they were hurt, they still comforted each other. They could read each other's minds; understand what the other was thinking. Both could agree that the other was a very special friends and an irreplaceable one too.
After a string of attempts to hook the pair up, their matchmakers were successful in hooking them up. Ethan had asked Lyra to Senior Prom, and they started dating shortly after. The couple still considers each other to be best friends, they vowed to remain best friends of they ever broke up. Their friends and family say that what makes their friendship so unique is the fact that they know each other by heart, understanding the other well enough just by looking at their eyes. The trust and bind between them was so strong that no misunderstanding could break them apart. That was the extent of their friendship.
